Pepe signs for Arsenal.

Wonder if he should be playing on the right or the left, especially with Saka in such great form on the right. Having said that, him playing on the right is what lets him come central and cause chaos whereas on the left it would be relatively easy to guide him away from goal for the opposition defender.

Play him on the right if there's loads of space for him on the counter. Play him on the left if there's not as much space for him to run into.

I'll keep saying it, Arteta is an idiot if he doesn't keep him in the team. He's clearly playing with a point to prove and he keeps making arteta look like an idiot for not playing him. Stop playing favorites and go with your best players and team

Yep. As far as I'm concerned I think Odegaard Pepe and ESR have to fight for 2 spots and we can rotate according to opponents, but ESR is not that effective on the left so Pepe, one of Odegaard/ESR and Saka will be the way to go.

I want to see if Partey and Ødegaard can play together at the base, then we can cram them all in.

I think playing with Auba isolates Pepe more than playing with anyone else does.

ESR unfortunately looks like he'll be out for a while. i hope mikel bumps nico up to the first 11. the last 3 months is the first time i've really got the sense that nico wants it, and is willing to roll his sleeves up.

Still too loose a player for my liking but we may have no choice now but to play him more often

I would still pick and choose games. I’d use him in the Burnley and Olympiakos games. But I think he would frustrate vs Spurs

Cedric works better with both Pepe and Saka as RWF as he looks to overlap.
Bellerin likes to underlap which draws the cover defence centrally and congests the middle for Pepe and Saka when they look to atttack the area on their strong foot.
Bellerin works better with Willian who likes to stay wide on the right.

Similar story on the left where Saka and Pepe stay wider which doesn't suit either Tierney of Cedric as LB options, whereas PEA, Martinelli & Willian are all right footers and come inside which leave space for the overlap.

I think having him run at Aurier or Davies or whoever they play there is probably our best bet TBH. Who else are you going to play in that position if ESR is out?

With ESR out, throw in Pépé. I’d give Martinelli some minutes end of Burnley if he is up to it.

I'm actually worried that because he had a good game and ESR is out he'll play loads now.

He’s had 3 good-to-very good games in a row. If he plays that should be fine. I still don’t see him ahead of Pépé in the playing order for Mikel. Recent squad choices don’t suggest this. But to have our Willy back in working order is good news for us all.

His last few games he’s been decent. He’s been warming up. He got the assist I. The Benfica game. One which he actually doesn’t get enough credit for. He set up the play at centre circle and then made the run to top right of the field to get the return ball before feeding Tierney again. So he’s been warming up. There’s a gradual return to form here. He didn’t just appear like a Jack-in-the-box on Sunday.

He played his best game for Arsenal last sunday and he still had one assist for each team on the pitch. It sums him up really. Don't trust him, don't start him, don't throw him on as a sub unless you are out of every other option.
