Norwich always bend over for Liverpool.
Premier League 19/20
Nobody expected Norwich to do anything at anfield, did they?
Nah but there's always a chance that a newly promoted side makes life difficult and cagey in the first game of the season.
Not that I'd necessarily want to watch that
Fuck it. 3-0. The greatest player of all time with the header
Ok, I didn't expect much from Norwich but I expected them to keep the score below 3-0 before 30 minutes.
Why don't teams defend like that against us on opening days.
Norwich is pretty hopeless
We should ask for the same package when we play them
Everyone comes up feeling great. Big run out at Anfield - want to show their stuff. It's a world cup final for most of these lads.
Inevitably it turns to tears.
Liverpool aren't just one of the best teams in the country, they're one of the top 3-4 teams in world football.
Firmino took a sure goal away from Origi there. Krul having a good game and its still 4-0.
Norwich may not be up the gears or capable, but Pool are really fluid in possession. Getting the ball off them or foiling their lateral progression requires serious coordinated pressure.
They just have tons of bodies in the box when they attack.
Norwich always pull their pants down for Liverpool. Useless.
Anfield does pull a lot of pants down, tbh.
Just ask Barca (4-nil) and ourselves (5-1)
TAA's defending has got worse over the summer
All the praise he has got probably raised his complacency levels.
We outplayed them at the Emirates by targeting his flank but in the return leg, he was ready.

Iwobi took little old Trent to the cleaners every time he got the chance to go at him at Anfield.
I wonder how bad Alisson's injury is. It didn't look great when he hobbled off.

Nope.
Trent played very well at Anfield much to my disappointment as i had predicted his flank being the weak link.

I disagree. Iwobi had him every time he went at him because the kid is a genuinely awful one-v-one defender.
But if you want to talk about weak link, rewatch the first goal of the game to see proof of precisely that. Maitland-Niles back post after Iwobi danced around you know who with a one-two and put it on a plate. That doesn't scream ready to me. Just because we couldn't defend for toffee doesn't change that fact at least.

I watched it with an Arsenal mate and 2 Liverpool supporters and we teased them after that goal and they gave it back. 5 times!
I bet that was fun!
Liverpool could have scored 10 and it still wouldn't make my point any less true though.
As a team we were shit, as a team they were good. Individually Iwobi was good, individually Arnold was bad.
They are work colleagues and both Londoners.
One of them is nicest guy you can imagine (very un-Liverpool like) and the other only slightly deluded so it wasn't too bad.
I felt worse about the fake sympathy.
We watched it the sports bar in Canary Wharf and the worst thing was the playing of YNWA after the match!

I can assure you Arnold was in no way shape or form bad.
I was wondering what would come first, Ricky shitting on Trent, or Jones shitting on Pool.
Anyway, red reigned in London, until the blues of Chelsea came along. Red reigned in Manchester, until the blue of City came along. Red reigns in Liverpool, so let's hope the blues of Everton take over.
I'm really interested to see how Kean does in Merseyside. They bought some good players last summer and have added some really interesting prospects this year.
I love Rickyβs specific blind spot vv TAA
Watching Liverpool last night sobered me up a bit. Reminded me that our players and the coach have a long way to go towards developing a coherent, fluid, effective and recognizable footballing style.
I'm trying to see what Ricky's problem is with TAA and all I see is just a superb young fullback.
Ricky doesn't sit on fences. He either think hes good or hes shit.
But he is not afraid of admitting he is wrong when the player proved to be really good. I remember when jones started to big about Pepe 2 years ago Ricky was adamant he is shit and touch was way off, nothing special player but he changed his views to a potential world class player this year.
I'm intrigued to see if all of us will see how bad TAA is one day
My money is on him no longer rating Ndombele as the season progresses.
Ricky. Just teasing you mate.
Ndombele? The guy Tottenham signed? Never rated him.
Haller looks like the ideal PL striker but I just realised he's the fucker who missed an open goal from 3 yards against Chelsea in the EL final.
Terrible from Mahrez there. How does be miss the target? Inexcusable
I don't know who the West Ham left back is but Walker just destroyed him for pace for that goal, unreal
Jack looks like a player in the twilight of his career, struggling to hold on to any talent he had, not a 27yr old who should be in his prime.
Bit unfair on Cresswell because he had to turn and then accelerate. Always makes the guy that has a running start look good and the guy that has to turn look bad. Not that Walker wasn't still very quick mind.
I genuinely don't think City's XI are particularly special, but they are so well drilled it's unreal. The contrast between Leicester Mahrez and City Mahrez in terms of discipline off the ball is stark.

Unrecognizable. Misplaced passes. Poor first touches. Magic is gone
His legs are gone.

They're not that good, although some great players, that's why they get nowhere near in the Champions League. They have another XI they can put out that matches this XI though, barring a couple of those great players, and that's why they rack up 95+ points over a PL season.
Rodri looks ready to slot straight in. Good signing.
I wasn't impressed with him against Liverpool, and it's hard to judge here because City are on top.
