Anyway,

Early days but so far the Premier league have been able to do some pretty comprehensive testing:

Round 1: 17-18 May - 748 tested, with six testing positive from three clubs.
Round 2: 19-22 May - 996 tested, with two testing positive from two clubs.
Round 3: 25-26 May - 1,008 tested, with four testing positive from two clubs.
Round 4: 28-29 May - 1,130 tested, with zero testing positive.
Round 5: 1-2 June - 1,197 tested, with one positive result from one club.

In other words, 0.003% of the tests returned a positive sample.

5 subs have been confirmed as well as a 9 man strong bench.

I wonder if this temporary change might stick? I can't see what you lose.

Hugely changes the game in terms of what we consider effective 'squad options' if that remains

Why not just make it a free flowing come and go for all... Throughout the ninety. Add the spectators too.

Keep it. Its a better solution than winter breaks and less cup competitions.

You'll also see more goals, more comebacks and more young players given opportunities. Lots of knock-on benefits that are good for the game in general.

None of you guys watched any Bundesliga where the changes have been in effect already for awhile have you?

Not sure how it's any better than ignoring it. Honestly it's way worse.

As someone pointed out the other day, the words "This you?" have effortlessly destroyed countless pages of painstakingly drafted BLM corporate public relations in the past few days.

I've watched a few matches. Just makes me even more keen for the PL to return.

That's pretty encouraging. I can't imagine match days will have a huge impact on that.

Agreed, they took ages to sort out a plan but the PL have done a good job getting things moving since then.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, maybe I've mentioned it myself for all I remember, but SkySports are teaming up with EA to bring crowd noice. A good thing in my opinion.

It's very good.
They're going to try weird shit in Spain like green screen crowds that can be interchanged with advertising. I'm all for experimentation in these strange times, whether it's trying to replicate atmosphere or these 5 subs that have been working well so far.

Seems like the players are satisfied too - Deeney and Kante have returned to training having missed the previous week

Finally we'll hear the crowd at Emirates!

I'd prefer to hear the players' and bench shouting than fake noise.

I'm liking the fake noise option, super post-apocalyptic sf vibes. They should really go for it and broadcast it from retro-futurist public PA systems at the grounds.

Bring in a holographic crowd featuring all the main streakers and crowd interaction scandals from league history too. Perhaps even simulated racist chanting.
