We obviously can’t just bring in anyone. I’m nervous about the idea of Arteta or Ljunberg. We can’t afford yet another season of playing teams like Vitoria and Traktor. That’s a place for Tottenham. Not Arsenal. We need to get the balance right with someone who can achieve results quickly while also checking boxes for sustainability and attractive football.
The problem being, who in the hell is going to leave their team now for us?
This is why we should have got rid in the summer, now we are basically fucked. Unless a Klopp like situation occurs where a top manager leaves his team now, and we can pick him up.
We may as well leave Emery until the end of the season now.
Ten Hag, Rodgers (not for me but probably would do better than Emery) or even Tuchel (will PSG keep him if they don’t go far in the CL?) will all not come now.
Ljungberg would be interesting to see, as this season is a write off anyway, but even that could backfire.
Emery should never have been allowed to continue after that implosion last season, you can lose or have bad runs, but the results along with the football were absolutely horrific. At that point he had a whole season, and you couldn’t see any cohesion.
Who is really surprised about our current situation?
