Yeah that kind of head-up-the-arse tactical misfire is the hallmark of a coach that's not up to it. Will interested to see how the club handles things between now and january if these poor showings continue. Hopefully the passiveness of the gazidis era is truly over

Torreira is best at DM, as shown with Uruguay and our team last season. He look totally lost playing in advanced positions and don't have the power to run past defenders.

Reminiscent of poor Oxlade-Chamberlain being played on every position but his favored one. Emery has broken Torreira’s spirit. A woefully mismanaged player wrote arrived with verve but is how a shell.

Looking at our schedule, I also suspect it will be a while before we see Tierney and Bellerin in the league. I think he will play them versus Liverpool in League Cup and Vitoria again. Then against Leicester, he will try to be ultra conservative and deploy Chambers and Kolasinac.

There is a break before Southampton (23 Nov). That’s when we will see our strongest squad, God willing

Players aren't just entitled to a spot in their favoured position. Ox was mostly shit for us and was rarely switched on and working hard in games. He never earned a place in his preferred position. Torreira similarly hasn't been good enough, if he was he'd easily oust a lack lustre Xhaka from the position he wants. Only thing I'll say for Torreira is at least he usually tries to win his place, his attitude is right unlike Ox.

Perhaps Emery thinks using Toreira this way could be worthwhile if he can win the ball higher up the pitch . Could work , but he needs to be quick thinking and able to release it quickly and with precision.

Might as well hire me with that logic. I can't possibly do worse, either.

Looks like this is the start of the end for Emery. Once the fans turn, it's over. Our shitty bunch will only make this season more difficult than it needs to be and we're destined for another Europa League finish.
