It's easy to crack the whip at Emery. The reality is that the fans overrate our players and think we are ahead of our rivals based on nothing but fantasy. Pepe was lauded like he's Neymar, when he's been no better than Iwobi. He clearly needs time to adapt and will take a while before he delivers. Perhaps, a season or two.
Our kids are talked about like they are some next generational talent. When in truth they should be nowhere near the first team. Willock, Guendouzi and Nelson should be out on loan far away from here. Yet, Emery had to rely on two of them to win him the game.
Don't even make me start on our CB's. There is a reason why we called him Lulz and Sokratis has been a fraud since last season. There's not even Mustafi around to face the blame.
As usual, the manager will be the scapegoat, just like Wenger was, just like Emery is now and just like the next man will be in a few years time. Few will point to the fact that we just don't have the money to buy the players we need to consistently beat shit bags like Watford.
The problem is bigger than Emery and it's that we have inflated expectations for no reason other than the fact that we won a league title over 15 years ago.
