hopefully he has a monster season and we recoup our money, or even make a little profit. given he's played 0 times for us, he's probably cost us 15-20m so far. there was a rumour that saliba was one of the only players leicester were interested in a swap deal for maddison and we said no, so maybe there's still a plan for him. problem is I don't see him viewing arsenal with much positivity given how things have gone. if we were bayern or real Madrid and had some legit players ahead in the pecking order already, he would probably be patient. but we're not, and in fact, we bought a bunch of players to play ahead of him after he was signed. genuinely don't see him wanting to extend his stay with us

a new manager can change a lot of things. with arteta gone, presumably saliba gets a clean slate and a chance to win a place on merit. that could be what it takes for him to succeed here.

Where did you read that? We didn't state preference for him there were alot of clubs coming for him and he chose Marseille

can't remember exactly but I think it was actually Charles Watts on his channel.

I think the player himself mentioned that Arsenal preferred he go to a PL club, but he "pushed and pushed" to go to Marseille.

yep, he's said himself he didn't want arsenal to negotiate with an epl club as he wanted Marseilles only. again, doesn't really scream that he sees himself playing in England longterm

He's not a young nobody, he's one of the biggest French talents in one of the most talented French generations ever. He's also seen the mismanagement before this summer

and there's no way arsenal wouldn't have made commitments on developing him as a player, first team minutes on offer etc.

Yea that's all conjecture. We probably know 30% of this story. Hard to make sense of it without adequate information.

I don't think we can have expectations of Saliba when forcing him out on loan for a 3rd season in a row. At that point he is right to forget about whats best for Arsenal and focus on what he thinks is best for himself.

He probably can guess the other 70% of the story. The facts are all there for you to believe. Even Saliba lamented on social media and interviews about how we treated him without even giving him any chance

What we do know is Saliba hasn't been given a chance to show us what he's capable of in an Arsenal shirt. And that is down to Arteta.

he gave arteta a weird look once, so instead of him in our team we get to watch kolasinac, who i honestly thought we sold 3 weeks ago, playing CB.
