Don Pacifico Saka doesn't get criticised like Martinelli because he doesn't consistently make the same mistakes. And from where I'm standing, Martinelli makes a lot of crosses to no one when penned into a corner.
Nah it's just bias. Gabriel used to get the same criticisms about being brain dead, not good on the ball, rash, a mistake waiting to happen etc. For a good couple of years. Even until half way through last season you had people making those same criticisms and that Saliba was the guy holding everything together.
Anyways, it's like I said previously, G/A will skew people's minds about a performance. I didn't see much difference in how he played yesterday to how he played the last few games where people were saying "he's improved blah blah blah". He was a few cm away from a goal, could have walked away with an assist to Saka and the whole tone on his performance would be different.
@flobaba calling him my boy is cool, I probably have some bias, I can admit that. But there are those who are unhappy with how we are playing, or how we attack, whatever, and Martinelli is the easiest scapegoat for them to blame whenever we drop points. Some people will be eating their words in the end. Whether those people is me or his haters, I guess we'll have to wait and see.
