Not sure if Eddie is a bigger prospect than Saka, but I really like him as a person and we could use a striker of his type if he turns out good.

Actually I think he very much fits. He's the kind of striker Emery dreams about, someone who's got everything in his locker and can fit any tactical plan.

No, I just mean technically. Body shape, running form, handling the ball is all smooth and natural with the obvious rustiness of youth. Everyone else in the squad bar auba-including ozil- is either utterly one footed or seem to be falling over or bungling the ball from their first touch onwards.

You see him and wish we had more players like him. He’s got such solid grounding as a footballer. Very confident on the ball, excellent spatial wellness which plays out in multiple ways - he moves into spaces before defenders do, and he’s also a good passer even with bodies around him. Good balance. Wonderful leap and excellent power generation with headers. This guy is going to be a devastating 9. I’m looking at him and thinking he’s going to get ahead of Lacazette as an option for 9 within the next year or 2, especially considering the Frenchman’s contract situation.

I hope he moves ahead of Lacazette soon. The latter looks really crap unless he's scoring random worldies every few months.

He's managed to improve this to a goal every 52 mins. Also given the amount of knocks he took last night without getting injured, I think it's safe to say he'll average 4000 mins a season which means he's well on course to break the 1000 goal barrier at the club.

Uncannily like Ronaldo, even his shooting technique. You can tell he's modeled it on him and I tell you what -there is no reason the kid can't drag us to something magical and net 40 in a season like his idol too (not this season though). I know I'm talking mad but its just how it feels at the moment. He has the requisite skill for the league like many others do, but unlike most he has that instinct and confidence to flourish.

Me too, but through my ignorance. There is still a chance he regresses to that status but the probability diminishes with every appearance.

im wondering if he is suited to play LW for now, and then eventually move to the center. saka has done well there too. i think we absolutely need to play one of them at LW instead of auba though, hes not nearly effective out wide as he is through the center and laca isnt a winger.

Our attack looks more cohesive with Laca centre too as he can hold up, he just isn't as dangerous as Auba. Its a tough one to balance. I think I'd just go 4-4-2. We don't defend well or control midfield anyway. May as well just have the most fire power possible.

Martinelli is sensational though. I've been wondering if even Cescs first few games were as good, I don't think so, though he was younger. We've got so much exciting young attacking talent now we need to lean into it.

Laca can't really "hold up" though. Sure, he'll drop deep to provide a passing option from midfield, but once he has the ball he's totally unaware of his next move, doesn't pick his head up and is thus dispossessed.

People in match threads, I don't keep a list of who. He had a sub par game the other week and there was a lot of it.

i give the youngsters until 20-21 before i throw 'em in the bushes. i use to like AMN. loved iwobi, then after a while you figure out they are who they are and i can't wait anymore. if you keep waiting you become the kind of club that persists with them through the rough times and if they get great after all of that then they turn on you and say the club doesn't have enough ambition. yeah cause we persist with players like you.

martinelli would have to start sucking and then i won't have as much hope for him as i do now and even then i'd wait until he's 20-21 to say NEXT.
