The Kaka comparisons, though, are way off as one was a goal-scoring midfielder and the other a dribbling striker.
He reminds me more of the young Luis Suarez of Ajax and the first couple of years at Liverpool.

I really like what I am seeing with this kid. I recall a chance on the counter yesterday when he clearly should’ve waited for support but he took it on himself to try to run directly at the defender. He lost the ball but who cares. He bets on himself.

Also he runs hard all day.

Talent + application. I’d take a swipe at Ozil but I don’t want to upset Klaus.

He's now just 223 goals from Thierry's record.

Worth remembering this guy only turned 18 in June. Physically he's still developing yet he's already got a very good burst and can handle himself. He's got an elite mentality too.

He's averaging a goal every 54 mins. If he manages about 3000 mins a season, that's 56 goals a year. Over a 14 year career that's 784 goals. Messi has only managed 606 so far.

What an extraordinary player Suarez was. And still is on his day.

And, I agree, I think there are strong similarities in Martinelli's game. Even down to that slightly awkward dribbling style. They are both super smart footballers, even though Suarez is very good at many things, that intelligence is his essential quality. I think Martinelli has that too.

Europa League starts should be his for the remainder of the group stages. Lacazette will be starting League games soon anyway.

On current evidence I think Martinelli and Eddie are our two best youth prospects. There are a couple who have a shot at a pretty good Arsenal career from the current crop, but these two just seem to be a cut above in terms of mentality. Really excited that we've found good attacking talent again.

I think Eddie could have a hard time getting back into the Arsenal squad after his loan. I hope we give him a year to try and prove himself here though. He's the kind of player I'd love to bring off then bench when we need a goal. Pure striker.

I hope we keep him too. I definitely think there's a place for him. We were adamant when we loaned him out that we weren't interested in selling him, and the loan must have reinforced our belief in him if we've monitored his progress in any way. He has done as well as is humanly possible with the minutes he's been getting. He'd probably be the Championship top scorer if we had loaned him to a club where he started regularly.
