That's a superb highlight reel. The way he takes that Odegaard layoff is brilliant given how unexpected it was, a little unlucky that the West Ham defender was so alert.

It really is a huge relief. The injury shouldn't have caused any lasting damage, but, as you say, the explosiveness had gone. Thank christ he's back.

I've said this before but if Gabi, ESR and Saka all keep heading in the way that we hope then we will be in the CL by default - we've hit the jackpot. That's without taking old man Odegaard into consideration.

CL is essential though, because if we give these guys the biggest stage to shine on it will really give us a platform to sign the best young talent out there.

Martinelli is great. I was at Stamford Bridge Jan 2020 when he scored that stunner, one of the best goals I’ve seen live.

However, I think Emile Smith Rowe has the highest ceiling out of any of players.

Agree with that. Also rate ESR the most. He is the most complete player out of the 3.

I think Saka has the highest ceiling. The others can be massive players at the highest level but I think Saka can be as good a final 3rd player and he still gives so much more. I don't think Marinelli can drag a bad team through a game for instance but Saka can.

Not predominately yet in my opinion + our conversations around page 21/22 on this thread. Definitely and option centrally here and there and maybe with the pendulums swinging from wide to predominantly central by the time he's 23-26. For several seasons. Also think Smith-Rowe as a false nine was a good idea for occasional use. Just not in a game of that scale before it having been tested before.

I think Martinelli can be whatever he wants to be, but for right now, off the left is where he is going to tear it up.

Has he improved his first touch? Seems to bring it under control with ease now, always worried it would hold him back a bit.

feels like it was a bit of a confidence issue. his touch was sharp when he first broke through, maybe not a technical maestro, but good for a mobile striker. really like that our players are actively looking to pick out his runs with early passes

Style of play reminds me of Alexis Sanchez. I think he should remain as a left-sided forward.

I prefer him out there too, I don't think you gain much from moving him up front at all.
