I always thought that people who dribble over the ball like Jack does are walking injury risks too. Freddie did the same thing and always got kicked to bits. His playing career would probably have been longer without all the injuries.

The weird thing with Jack is that he has some simple issues he'd have an expected return of 4-6 weeks and then 2 month later woud be having surgial intervention for an issue thats not healing and miss the season. It wasn't just that he broke easily a mini injury had him miss a season. Very Thomas Vermaelen/ Harry Kewell.

Listened to an interview with a doctor recently. He suggested that he he has an injury setback and we are being extra cautious with him. Said that the original timeline of his return were somewhat rushed, and it’s not unusual for related system weakness to occur, so useful to slow down the full return. So the doctor said he finds Martinelli’s absence probably normal and smart

Speedy: Vermaelen is a good shout. How many games has he played since his last season for us? I bet Saka has more starts than him in the same time. And he was 13 when Vermaelen left.

Its definitely an issue but even with the worst will in the world he just never seemed to heal properly. Or physios were shut at the time. But even without physio lost of his issues should have healed 5-6werks naturally. Maybe 2 months if he's being a dope. I think he just had a very undurable body.

In a recent interview he said he now regrets not listening to advice about coming back too soon as soon as he was available, and always wanting to play regardless of the 'red zone'.

He also said he wasn't going to change his style of play so as to avoid potential fouls & injuries, so he didn't exactly help himself either.

I completely forgot Martinelli was on the bench today. What's up with him, why is he not playing more? If he's still not completely fit, then what's the point of him sitting on the bench over Eddie or Nelson?

It's the same as last year. Arteta put him into the team immediately. Then after that he got dropped and never seen again and then got injured. Maybe tactically he is not up to Arteta liking for now

He's just unlucky that he's understudy to our club captain and 300k a week main man, while Laca is obviously going to be the go to alternative in most games.

He'll get more game time in the league I'm guessing. I don't know why folks are so worried about a 19yr old though, especially on the back of a big injury.

I think Arteta is just being cautious with the injury more than anything. This is definitely not one I’m worried about. The excitement in his voice when he talks about Martinelli is very different from when he talks about m, say, Lacazette. He loves this kid.

Firstly, I could watch him train all day. Secondly, Gabi is the biggest reason why I’m not on board with signing a centre forward. We’ve got one that’s already world class, and we’ve got one that’s going to be world class. Why would you want to sign another?

I agree, but I guess one reason is that nobody has had any reason to think that we'll be playing Martinelli as a striker.

I think people underestimate how much Ødegaard will cost if we want him and he wants us. We also need a top CM and a right back. We don't need to add a striker to the shopping list as well.
