Arteta mentioned that the reason he looked like he was going to sub him off several times is because he was. Arteta thought he must've been knackered, but every time he was about to be subbed off he ran another sprint at full speed. Just hope we don't play him more than he's capable of.

I saw that sprint stat yesterday and I immediately realised why Klopp was calling him a generational talent when we played Liverpool. Martinelli was tailor-made for his brand of football.

I said before the rumors started I would be against selling even for 100. He really could be huge for us.

Much will depend on if he wants to stay or not, and that will likely depend on if we are challengers for titles & silverware both domestic and in UEFA.

Yeah the selling aspect vines into play because we have to be brutally honest we are not a club that looks like you can pick up trophies right now or reach your potential.

I'm not sure he's going to have any particular loyalty to us if another club came in able to provide that option and it's then we may be forced to cash in but we should be able to get a record fee for us.

I'll certainly enjoy him while he plays for us but if managed to continue on this trajectory I would not be surprised if he wanted to move on. That's a mark of the level of the club right now.

Haha. Kidding. I'd love for him to CR7 or TH14 it for us over several seasons. It's possible.

However, we do need to have at least a couple of precious assets at the club like this kid, that could be used to raise absurd funds at some point in order to balance the team better as a whole.

I'm happy with either scenario (as long as any potential sale is abroad).

Yeah, you only sell when you have to avoid a Sanchez or Ramsey scenario or if the player forces our hand. There's no guarantee the reinvestment works out.
