Why would Palace accept 40m though? No chance at all. We think he is worth around 40-55m but to Palace it's much more. He is singlehandedly the difference between relegation and staying up if you saw the impact of him in the team vs their win/loss ratio. He is too important for them to consider selling on a cheap and not to mention they manage to get 55m for a youth RB.

If our finances is managed properly past few years this transfer would have been easy peasy. He is probably the only one linked in the entire transfer window they might elevate us to a slightly higher level although his injury record will be a huge concern.

Which is fine. No agreement and we move on. Let's see who else is willing to pay £80m for Wilfried Zaha. I'd put a lot of money on no other club making that bid.

As I said before, I think comparing it to the Wan Bissaka move is nonsense.

If we spend more than 40- 50 mill on this, after all the talk of wisening up and beating the market then we’re the biggest fools in the history of the premier league.

Not comparing with it, but you would have thought nobody will be willing to pay 55m for him as well. Palace will be a tough nut to crack and we need every bit of strike Zaha can muster to have a chance.

I think they will certainly bite at 55m-60m but I would rather take the chance to clear Elneny/Mustafi/Jenkinson etc.

Clrnc, put yourself in Palace’s shoes. What are they going to do with Elneny, Mustafi, Jenkinson?

Well you are, aren't you? By mentioning him you're making Wan Bissaka part of the reasoning in the pricing for Zaha.

If you thought nobody would be willing to pay £55m for him last week, why does it suddenly become the standard by which Zaha is priced? It just doesn't make sense.

And for the record, I'm pretty certain no club other than United would have paid that for him either.

You'd have thought they'd have learned their lesson from the Luke Shaw signing. Long may United overpay for players who have yet to prove themselves at the highest level.

Exactly. At £40mil+ range, we can find similar quality players outside PL. For £70-80mil, we can buy two players. Palace can fuck off.

That wouldn't really be rational. If they had an amount that they deemed worth to sell a player for, raising that amount to 100m because they're mad would mean that if we bid 90m,they'd choose to keep Zaha instead of more money than they think he's worth to them. They're an organization, not a person,so irrationality like that shouldn't happen.

Sorry my bad, it's not 100m they want as they'd upped the price from 80m before we made the bid = they now want 120m.

Mate where do you read this horseshit?

Who wants 120? Barca for Dembele?

I can confirm the reports are true. Anzac is talking about me. I want 120m

I kinda want 120m as well. Would help me out a lot.

I think Anzac is talking about Palace, I read somewhere on twitter(shit link) that they are thinking at somewhere between 80-120 if that makes any sense.

I need a new yacht. One of those rigs with the helipad, disco and a pool. I have the best claim for the 120m

A 'new' yacht? What is it with this place and rich Africans ffs

I googled the £120m claim, apparently The Sun and one or two others are running with that claim. I think £40m is laughable for a player they bought for £6m after flopping at a big club a few years ago. He's progressed no doubt, and we've regressed as a club. But the world has gone mad.

They're trying to show they're wearing big boy pants.

I don't think so. The £120m claim is laughable and not reported by any credible sources, so I suspect it's nonsense from the likes of The Sun and The Daily Star rather than Palace's stance on the transfer.

Arsenal now leaking that if not Zaha, they will move on Brahimi. Hilarious the kind of games that get played through the press. The most sensible move for all parties here is for Arsenal to put that 40M into Cengiz Under and for Zaha to stay at Crystal Palace.

Or Ziyech, Malcom.
And then get a CM. And finish the defense deals. Sell Laca if necessary and get 2 AMs. Just get your hands out your pants
