Which is fine. No agreement and we move on. Let's see who else is willing to pay £80m for Wilfried Zaha. I'd put a lot of money on no other club making that bid.
As I said before, I think comparing it to the Wan Bissaka move is nonsense.
Not comparing with it, but you would have thought nobody will be willing to pay 55m for him as well. Palace will be a tough nut to crack and we need every bit of strike Zaha can muster to have a chance.
I think they will certainly bite at 55m-60m but I would rather take the chance to clear Elneny/Mustafi/Jenkinson etc.
Well you are, aren't you? By mentioning him you're making Wan Bissaka part of the reasoning in the pricing for Zaha.
If you thought nobody would be willing to pay £55m for him last week, why does it suddenly become the standard by which Zaha is priced? It just doesn't make sense.
And for the record, I'm pretty certain no club other than United would have paid that for him either.
You'd have thought they'd have learned their lesson from the Luke Shaw signing. Long may United overpay for players who have yet to prove themselves at the highest level.
