Shrewd moves by Warriors. I love Igoudala and what he brings on the defensive end, but the guy contributed very little offensively this season. Was shocking how badly the Warriors struggled without Klay and KD to get buckets.

because the mavs reneged on their portion of the butler deal, it turned into a crazy 4 team deal

miami is so fucking dumb. they now have jimmy butler, winslow, dragic, james johnson, and pretty much nothing else, with no cap space, and they dont have all their first round picks for the next 5 years.

hes almost certainly going to the clips

The insider that you mentioned in the past who first leaked out the Al Horford to the Sixers news has now spoken:

Raptors it is. If he goes to the Lakers, the NBA is ruined again.

going to the lakers would actually be amazing. they'd have 5 NBA players and 10 empty roster spots that can only be filled with players on the vet minimum. of course those 10 guys will be in space jam 2 and will be paid in ways to circumvent the cap, but still, it will be fascinating.

Yeah, I think Iggy might be getting a role in Space Jam 2 now!

😆

RDA says kawhi to the lakers.

craziest 24 hours in NBA history

so RDA got doxed tonight and it turns out hes jeanie buss's nephew. what a world we live in

Yeah, also he attacked the GSW higher office...he was done that second. That's a shame as play-off Iggi is always great. He might get out of his contract and move to Houston or Lakers, should be fun.

Also, if Kawhi picks the Lakers it's done. It's GSW all over again and it sucks....

Would it immediately become Kawhi's team with LeBron taking a back seat or will the change come over time?

not really. golden state won their first title pre-durant with 3 stars and a lot of quality depth. when durant arrived, they still had good depth in iggy, looney and livingston. the lakers, if they add kawhi, because they havent drafted well and they traded away all their young talent, will only have their big 3, plus guys making the league minimum. and they've capped their potential to add young talent by trading away a ton of their first round assets. they might still win a title, but its not a given the way it was with the warriors

I think Durant is the best player in the world, but he must also be the toughest one to manage. Withdrawn, insecure, seemingly okay with letting others take charge but lashes out passive-aggressively when something doesn't go to plan. He couldn't get along with Westbrook, he couldn't get along with Curry and Draymond. If this Durant-Kyrie pairing is to win a title in Brooklyn they better get it done quick, preferably KD's first year back from this injury, because sooner or later I see history repeating itself again.

lol I was thinking the exact same thing and was about to write the same. Not just durant, even kyrie isn't a mature cat. Wouldn't be surprised if it's just an impulsive decision they made to join up and soon get into turf wars.

Durant has a weird, lean ass body. Will be interesting to see if it works towards complete restoration of the achilles function or if he'll be crocked for life...or if the body morphology won't be a factor.

i dont think there is any real worry about durant's aging curve. his best comp, in terms of his profile, is someone like dirk, and dirk aged gracefully. durant's entire game is predicated on his otherworldly shooting. he doesnt thrive in trying to cook guys on the dribble and get to the line constantly. as long as he can rise up and shoot, he'll age fine, because no one can defend his jumper, just like no one could defend dirk's fadeaway. durant is a better athlete than dirk ever was, obviously, which helps his cause too

regarding the personalities, its really kind of hard to know. as im sure everyone knows, making new, close friends gets tougher as you get older. its just a different mentality. for pro athletes, im sure its even tougher. he has an entire infrastructure around him, but its all a professional infrastructure. when you are one of the most famous people in the world, it must be difficult to develop close bonds with people, especially new people, because you'll never really know their true motives.

Helicopters following kawhi in car from his plane in toronto lol. Crazy.

Summer league fixture of the season: Zion (no 1 draft) vs RJ Barrett (no 2 draft) tonight.

Barrett was drafted at 3. Ja Morant was drafted at 2.

holy fucking shit everything just happened

kawhi to the clippers
clippers trading SGA, galo and a ton of picks for paul george

holy shit. this league. amazing

shams beat woj by a few seconds on the news

the nba is the best. and its not even close.

SGA, galo, 5 first round picks (1 protected, 4 unprotected) and 2 pick swamps. mindblowing.

goodnight.

Fucking hell. What a coup by the Clippers. They're my favs to win the chip now.

Kawhi/PG >>> Bron/AD

The western conference playoffs are going to be the most unpredictable in a long time

Wow, just wow.

Spare a thought for OKC...

Wow, just woke up to this news. It's shaping up to be a fun season next year.

Going to interesting seeing how Doc and PG interact with each other:

Crazy!

Happy he got what he wanted. Would’ve preferred it was in Toronto but we couldn’t give him an all star at PG’s level, as well as the chance to play at home.

Excited for next season.

oh please, just because there's a recent woke and loud twitter crowd? I'm sure in the testosterone laden hyper masculine nba world and also where multi millions are involved, these are still trivial matters.

OKC got good price. Russell Westbrook though lol.

They are all crocks and injuries could easily be the biggest factor come playoffs. Clippers prolly have the best depth overall that could make the difference. If Klay returns well rested by playoffs time, I still don't know anyone else with a better first team.

predictably, the rumors are starting up (from woj) that westbrook might ask to be traded. i cant imagine any sane GM would trade for him. so i expect the knicks to explore this possibility

Now rondo. Lol. All this trouble to swap pelicans team into LA

Miami: We'll give our...uhh....the 2023 and the 2025 unprotected first round picks since you guys have our 2021 pick already!!!

it just has to be repeated that westbrook's contract is insane

$38.5 (age 30)
$41.3 (age 31)
$44.2 (age 32)
$47.1 (age 33, player option)

just....wow.

the heat are currently at $146m, which means they are over the apron already. i dont think there is any way they could trade for westbrook. anderson, dragic and james johnson would have to be involved, and why would OKC want any of those guys?

send the thunder back to seattle, please

Haha! No way. We’ve got draft picks, and SGA could be a fine point guard if his game develops under Billy Donovan (assuming we keep him). We’ll be fine in a few years but definitely no longer playoff contenders.
