It's Zion time bitchesss! !!!
NBA 19/20
since this is the start of a new thread, i figured id post some resources here for those that might not know about them. the NBA is the best, we have a good group here, and i hope more people get into the NBA moving forward.
if you are interested in analytics, CTG is the best basketball site by a huge margin. there is a small fee per month/year, but lots of useful stuff on there.
paywall site, but the best beat writing and daily basketball content on the interwebs.
if you use twitter, you'll want to follow woj and shams and turn on notifications for the next few weeks
in terms of podcasts, i really only listen to zach lowe and woj. i sometimes listen to bill simmons podcasts, but he can be pretty insufferable.
for draft stuff tonight, the ringer's draft guide is great (and free) https://nbadraft.theringer.com/
nba.com has a good free agency tracker that shows everyone's status: https://www.nba.com/freeagents/2019/tracker
ESPN will have good intel/dirt on free agent stuff, the articles will probably be paywall, but you can get the gist of it just by following woj on twitter
i know we have a decent mix of favorite teams on this site, hopefully we get a few newbies to jump on board as well so we have more to discuss this season.
griff is on a roll, damn
Ja Morant sounds like a rapper name
Who do you guys think will pan out after Zion, Morant, and RJ Barrett?
I find this draft to be a bit of a crapshoot after those 3.
Deandre Hunter will blow up I think

i think all 3 will be good, but i watch barely any college basketball
the sixers traded with the celtics again to take someone from washington. i want to fucking die
well, tonight was a complete and total disaster for the sixers, so the offseason is off to a great start
Klutch pick.
Bloody Knicks
Not too many surprises early on. Maybe just Hachimura and everyone in the wrong hat

Klutch Sports Lakers.
Kawhi will re-sign with Toronto.
Unlikely. I wouldn’t if I were him. What’s he going to do there now that he can’t do elsewhere? LA is his home. He can become the face of the Clippers franchise and make them instant contenders with a few deft moves from the front office. I think that’s his next, logical destination.

He can rehab properly for one. Not getting humiliated by his franchise and teammates is another. Having the support of a whole country probably feels pretty good too. We had two million people to our parade last week, meanwhile the Clippers aren’t even the biggest team in their own building.
I think he’ll leave. But I think it’ll be because of family. There’s nothing the Clippers can give him that he didn’t get in Toronto this season. You think he’d be the face of the Clippers, he’s the face of a Country with us. You’re talking about them possibly becoming contenders, the Raptors won the title 2 weeks ago and are in a position to retain more or less the whole roster. The chat going around seems to be leaning towards a 1+1 deal and I think that’ll be best for everyone involved. There’s absolutely no basketball related reason to leave the current situation, especially considering the state of the league.
I’ll have no ill will towards him regardless of his decision. I’d love him to stay, but he’s already given me the highest highs I’ve had following sports in 15 years. I don’t think I’ll ever forget watching his Game 7 winner. Bloke is a legend.
given his health issues, it would be insane for him to sign a 1+1. if he leaves and goes to LA or anywhere else this summer, he can sign for 4/141 with the clippers or 5/190 with toronto. if he leaves $100M+ guaranteed on the table and suffers a major injury, hes taking a huge risk. hes good enough that some team may still gamble on him at the max next summer even if he got hurt and missed most of this season, but why even risk that?
Absolutely. The last two games he has played in had two major injuries. That’s got to be playing on his mind.
He left a lot of money on the table when he left San Antonio so i hope how much we can offer him isn’t what Masai would base our pitch around.
We’re going to have a tonne of cap space after this season so if we’re looking to sign him long term we’re going to have to sell him on our ability to turn over the roster and attract some decent free agents. Which we’ve never been able to do. I imagine it’d easier if we had a superstar like Kawhi on the books though.
ive already lost a lot of faith in the sixers front office, but if they go along with this bullshit, im completely done with them. fucking lunacy

No chance that happens. There’s only a few teams dumb enough in the league to agree to that and you guys aren’t one of them.
This is going to be fun!!!
