Yep, we haggeld over 4 mil in bonuses and we are about to lose him to Spurs. Spurs want to close the deal tomorrow and have offered 30 million up front and bonuses. We offered 26 bonuses included and payment in 2 years. Close this one up.

Rank stupidity!

Shameful state of affairs. Genuinely can’t see us improving unless we fluke champs League somehow or Kroenke pumps money in or clears off

It’s actually staggeringly and unbelievable just how poorly run we have been

The same guy says Tottenham don't have an agreement with the player. He also says we have an agreement with St Ettiene and the player. Why are you so convinced we've lost him? Sounds more like Tottenham are just stirring.

My sources have told me that Saliba is desperate to play for a manager with real teeth.

Well the diffrence in money. We offered 26 including bonuses, we would pay in 2 years. Spurs offered 30 mil now, and bonuses. And they don't have an agreement beacuse they did not talk until now...

Negotiations between Arsenal, Saint Etienne and Saliba were in their very final stages - much of it already in the hands of lawyers to agree wording of contracts etc - but Tottenham have reignited their interest and are now pushing hard to get the deal completed

It probably wouldn't take much for him to agree terms with the shit. Theyre unfortunately an easier sell at the moment. This is what youre supposed to do when you have an advantage. Grind your rivals nose in it

We needed to switch focus to a CB that can come in now anyway

Small time wankers are probably doing it to fuck with our transfer plans and drive the price up. Saliba has already told them he's not interested. Scumbag club.

Of course they would have talked, we had a deal agreed with Saliba long before we agreed with the club. His preference is with us, this is where our advantage lies and this is where we need to get him to hold firm. If he has no interest in joining them it doesn't matter how much they offer.

So in that case you think Spurs talked to him, he said no and then they made the bid anyway?

That was exactly what was reported last week in France: Spurs have spoken to him and he said he wasn't interested because he only wants Arsenal.

This is Spurs with their foot on our neck. Don't think Levy isn't enough of a sad little small time cunt for that to be hyperbole. Listen to Dick Law talk about the Özil deal, for example, and Levy's ridiculous behaviour there.

This is Spurs trying to say; things have changed, we're top dogs, we have more money than you and we'll take a player off you as and when we want to.

This is about more than just Saliba now, if they come in at the eleventh hour and take him from us now, we're in big trouble.

I agree, we have to match that offer just to save face now.

I'm not sure what the club would have sold him that puts us clearly ahead of the scum. Unless he's a big arsenal fan, or maybe has some tangential connection to aubameyang, or is really a man of his word that will stick to the handshake deal he already has with us. All of that seems more like hope than anything else. We'll see what develops but the fact we're sitting here sweating over it is a sign of the times

You are right, Levy is a despicable small-time piece of shit.

Because not one of them is "Arsenal". Who high up at the club remembers who we were? Fucking disgusting cunts all of them.

Pretty sure its karma for the sol Campbell transfer. We can take small comfort in the fact that transfer will never be topped

Because we will never again have a player of that level of quality for them to yoink?

Yes never again. The club will die and we'll all move on to cricket and curling

And then we'll sign the Sol Campbell of curling, and we'll all be laughing.

@lorddulaarsenal wrote:

Well yeah

Petit, Campbell, lasagnagate. They have so much pain they need to make up for in the last couple of decades. They can have Saliba for all I care.

This seems overly pessimistic. I reckon Reiss Nelson has everything in his locker to be a true Tottenham Hotspur legend one day.

Tottenham have offered MORE than what St Etienne are asking for, that tells you all you need to know about how serious this is. Until we here more I'd still say we're likely to be the ones to land him.

I think it's possible to have been an Arsenal player in the 2014-2017 period and still be a flop, but maybe that's just me.

We went from an average team to winning 3 trophies and 2 title challenges after his arrival. He immediately elevated the entire team and his teammates. I don't even like Ozil but some of the stuff I am reading...

As for Saliba, guys please remain graceful. Let them enjoy their time in the sun. We have held superiority over them for almost 50+ years.

This is also my read on this affair.

The player may just prefer to join us.

Also seeing reports that Spurs' bid above Saint Etienne's asking price is with no loan back for next season.

No way. This one has been done and dusted for a while, I would say.

If Saliba does choose Arsenal, it will be a huge blow to Tottenham.

BWoolley wrote:

If it had been done and dusted the papers would have been signed, and Saliba would have been announced already. We haven't closed the deal for whatever reason. It would be typical us to haggle over a few million and allow someone else to move in and hijack the transfer.

Mirth wrote:

Walcott and Giroud have plenty of flaws but movement isn't one of them.

Giroud especially was great for Ozil. By far Ozils best season, the one where he broke the assists record, was largely by feeding Giroud and a lot of it was from set pieces.

Bet we’ve offered better wages. We tend to overlay on that front whilst spurs are stingey as can be

I'm finding it hard to give a shit if this happens or not.

If Tottenham manage to snatch this by one way or another none of our transfer team should stay beyond this July.

Some child who will be useful in 4-5 years.

Not excited to sign him in the least.
