So fucking sad and so young.

Puts tonight into perspective.

Awful news, which puts a few things into perspective.

RIP.

Ah man, RIP Jose.

I don’t think I was ever more excited by a young Arsenal player than him in the 04/05 season. That game and goal against Boro is probably one of the Arsenal moments that really stick out for me in the memory banks.

Very sad!
RIP Jose and condolences to his family.

Good grief. One of my favourite Arsenal players there were very few I wanted to see succeed like him. RIP

Reminds me of a great time when the club had cojones. We had added Lehman, were going for an unbeaten season, and then pulled in a youngster who had just terrorized Real Madrid. And he had all the talent in the world. Condolences to his family and Extremadura clan

Wow this is really shocking and sad news. I can't believe it.

He was an immense talent. That first few months for us was amazing. Its a pity he never settled here properly he could have really helped us transition better after the Invincibles.

And I'll stick this here as its the first thing that sprang to mind when I was remembering him.

First of all condolences to his family, unbelievable at his age and wealth, with so much to look forward too.

Secondly, he was apart of the last Arsenal team which tried to show ambition. That was 15 years ago.

This is so horrifying and heartbreaking.

Talent-wise Reyes was as good as anyone I ever saw at Arsenal. He never quite managed to deliver on all that potential but I always had a soft spot for him. It's so fucking unfair that life should end for him at such a young age.

Shocking news. I feel like crying. He was my favourite Arsenal player back in those days till Arshavin came.

He had so so so much talent. Life is so unfair. Till now he is still our consecutive assist and goals record holder. I dont think we will ever have another player so good with crossing and cross field passes. RIP LEGEND

Its Reyes!!! Stand up for the champions. 😢

Would be hard not to shed a tear watching that goal vs Boro now. Heartbreaking on so many levels.

RIP. Such sad news

An exciting talent. Leaves us with great memories.

The last invincible we signed is the first invincible to die, can’t believe it.

You remain Invincible.

RIP.

Not seen a better debut. No first appearance created such anticipation. Not seen a better start to a League from a player as in 2004 till OT.

This is so sad, so young.

He played a part in our greatest ever accomplishment as a football club. For that I am ever grateful to him. Rest in peace.

Easily forgotten but his tackle on VDS at Fulham and his goal at Pompey is one of the most important moments in our invincible season.

And his performance against United in the Community Shield remains one of my top 10 Arsenal solo performance ever.

Was so looking forward to him rejoining us in the summer as well. Would have had so much to bring to our players.

RIP Reyes. Incredibly sad news.

Awful news. What an incredibly talented and exciting footballer he was.

RIP.

He was also very influential in our CL run in 2006

Stunned. Unleashes a flood of nostalgia for another time.

The cutback at 10min was technically so flawless and intelligent. I remembered watching it in real time and thinking how simple that was yet I got wowed by it. Champagne football

Life so fleeting. Gotta slow down for the day at least. RIP jose.

I lost a friend much too young a couple of weeks ago. He was 26, and died in a motorcycle accident. He was speeding (verified by witnesses), lost control of his Ducati and hit a kerb. He incurred a brain injury on landing.

Kid was brilliant. He was principal harpist in about a dozen Perth ensembles, a brilliant singer and composer, and his career as a doctor was developing fast. One of the most courageous people I ever met—he was always doing stuff like posting videos of him jumping off moving horses and that kind of thing.

Anyway, bit of a long and personal reflection on another death much too young. No one should be dead before their time, and I'm sorry that Reyes has gone. People will remember him for his electric pace and his instant threatening running when he appeared at Arsenal from Spain. God we could use a player like him now.

Puts everything into perspective. No matter how young and invincible you feel you are, you are vulnerable. Death is around the corner and it comes without warning.

RIP Jose Antonio.

It's been a rough week.

Sorry for your loss Burnsy.

So sad about Reyes, he provided some amazing memories at Arsenal at a time we were the best team around.

I hope those cunts Gary and Phil Neville offer their condolences. They both tried to break his leg when Reyes played against them.

Eagerly followed his career post arsenal.

Have to say the moment I read it I was literally shocked. Couldn't digest what I was reading.

Gracias por tu magio, el mago.

RIP.

Along with Gilberto he was my favourite back in the day.
