Surely, it's Raul that is accountable for the spending and recruitment?

Our net spend was almost exactly 40 million.

There is no right man for the job. The circumstances surrounding our club are basically shit. We have a shit budget and our rivals spend more money than us. We were unable to cash in on any of our departing talents and propel beyond our shit budget like Liverpool managed to do after selling Suarez and Coutinho.

Go review posts on redcafe from 2013. If only we had a better manager than Moyes!?! If only we had a manager better than LVG?!! If only we had a manager better than Mourinho ?!?!? If only we had a manager better than Ole?!?! I think our fans seem hell bent on wanting to get on that managerial bandwagon. Can't wait to see who our next manager will be and how long it will take before the fans do their usual bullshit.

Better yet, go have look at the local consensus on Liverpool managers from Souness to Klopp. That would be even more fun. Until Liverpool spent an incredible amount of money to sign all of van Dijk, Fabinho, Keita and Allison in under 6 months, they had very little shot at competing for the title in near 20 years.

Money talks, bullshit walks. Can we start protesting against the board and owners already? Emery is a scapegoat, just like Wenger was. Managers make a useful scapegoat whilst the people above carry on unfettered. Emery is purely distraction from the reality of the situation which is we spent a grand fucking total of 38 or so million this summer. IN 2019!!!!!!!!!! Fucking hell.

LFC had 2 big windfalls from the transfer fees received for Suarez and then Coutinho - without either they'd not have made the progressions they did at those times, and I doubt VVD would be a LFC player today.

We had plenty of revenue wasting away in the Cash Reserves - enough to do similar sooner, but now it's worth jack shit as a result of player fee inflation.

Lastly FFP is still in place meaning owners cannot spend just because they want to.

He's accountable as our quasi DoF, and it's for those reasons that I do not think he'll tolerate any manager who is failing.

I heard he has a 3 year deal anyways

And I don't care - CFC have paid out a small fortune in sacking managers who failed to meet their requirements.
It doesn't mean we shouldn't take action, but it does mean that we need to get our ducks lined up and do our due diligence.

Freddie will basically work for free anyway.

I used to think Asa was a poor naive fool for predicting Wenger would be 'gone by xmas' every year, but I reckon Unai will be gone by xmas or the new year, possibly by the next international break if the next few results are not respectable.

I suspect the decision has already been made. Emery wasted the summer. We could excuse last season as his learning period. But for him to still not have a system after this long, it’s sad.

In the end, it comes down to this. He doesn’t create chances and concedes a lot of chances. Statistically we destroy our own chances with our approach. There is no way this team can keep playing in this manner and hope to be anywhere near top 4.

Saw an article today on one of the AFC sites with the headline of Emery being a 'dead man walking'.
As such it means that despite the performance v The Blades generally being considered as being better than those against Watford & MU, that we have (at least in some quarters), openly progressed beyond #EmeryOut.

If we were to consider the metrics such as xG/xGA & key passes, shots at goal/shots allowed as being part of the KPIs, then we're no better than MU who are currently in the bottom half of the table and within 3 points of the relegation zone/battle.  The scary thing is that the one stat that shows any real difference is shots conceded, and we allow almost double that of MU.  Sheff U is a warning of what will be if we are unable to provide the service for PEA and Laca.

Just waiting to see how we incorporate the shiny new fullbacks into first team play.

You'll find that on most if not all Arsenal forums nowadays and it's mainly based on the football we are playing.

I thought the same way at the start of the season,  but I'm pretty convinced the issues run deeper than that

I'd seen plenty of #EmeryOut but it was the first time I'd seen 'dead man walking'.

Oh they definitely do. However we’ll be much much easier on the eye going forward with the pace of Bellerin and the crossing of Tierney. And our basic football ability quotient will push up a notch as well.

this season feels like a shittier version of 15/16.

15/16, the title was open goal that we skied into row z. all our title rivals were in a state of tumult and we had built a team over the course of 2-3 years that should've been hitting that season. leceister and sp*rs emerged from nowhere to fill the challenger gap that should've been occupied by us

19/20, 4th is an open goal that we look like we could sky into row z. this time it's our 4th place rivals that are in a state of tumult, yet we look likely to fail to capitalise

Curiously, Leicester have emerged yet again as the team that could beat us to the punch.

Last year was also a clear path to 4th.

Seems like too much is made about the Emery clip now

Quoting or posting van Persie opinion clips on an Arsenal forum.
