Loaning back aside, it's the only viable strategy. What's the alternative? You could sign even younger players for cheaper (which is actually more akin to what Chelsea did) or you could sign proven players at 2 or 3 times the price like we did with Pepe. In the ideal world you have a blend of the three, but our main market lies in the Saliba shaped middle.

Cancelo is amazing offensively but a complete liability in defence, transfer probably makes sense for everyone

Just about every scout, data analyst and reporter who has talked about this guy is very excited about his future. We have potentially overpaid given his stage of development, but if it means we don’t have to scramble in a year or 2, then I’m happy. Get the right balance. Looks like Sane has suffered a serious injury (rumored to be a torn ACL) in the Community Shield. That will probably end the Bayern transfer.

Edit: Talksport is claiming that he was taken off as a precaution. The interaction between Sane and Pep was frosty when he was limping off the field today.

As Pep is a stickler for detail, it may be Sane's fault for not following instructions but i thought, last season, his random dropping of Sane cost ~~me triple captain points on fantasy league~~ them more than a few points.

Luckily, it seems like Dybala to United is off after them refusing to pay the salary he wants. What I've read is that he wasn't really that keen to move there, so he asked for Sanchez money in order to do so. Nice to see them still struggling with the aftermath of that move.

Good stuff - love Dybala as a player and would have hated to see him rediscover his form at United. Ronaldo will retire soon and he'll be the star again. He just needs to be patient. Would have been a good signing for A.Madrid if they didn't nab Felix.
