Real Madrid looked disheveled today yet again versus the Spuds. Just not connecting well, and they were full of defensive errors - just poor communication particularly with Marcelo and Varane, and one of these instances led to the winning goal by mouth breather.

They look past it. Hazard and co aren't enough.
On the Spurs side, Ndombele looked good going forward. Happy to dribble past guys and very quick with the trigger.

Madrid's squad is bloated with players who are declining.

Marcelo, Ramos and the shell of Varane aren't going to make much of a backline. Shield that with Kroos and Modric (plus Casameiro) and it's not wonder they look porous.

That screams like an awful swap for both clubs to me. Another Sanchez-Mkhi disaster on the cards for Utd.

Dybala looks the wrong fit for their team. Doesn't seem the type to fancy living in England either. Ronaldo will hand in a transfer request when he witnesses Lukaku's first touch up close.

Surely Lukaku's job would be to run the channels and occupy defenders, thus freeing up space for Ronaldo to poach some goals?

Sounds good in theory but in practice it rarely worked with Rashford/Martial and Sanchez around. I just can't see Lukaku as the sort of striker that you need if you're targeting the CL.

Think Lukaku will do well enough their, he doesn't need to score 30 goals in that team so he'll be fine. Last season was his worst season since he really broke through and he still managed a dozen goals. He'll get closer to 20 if plays regularly for Juve.

Looking at goals scored only tells half the story, particularly since Juventus objective is to win the CL.

Yeah he was terrible last season but the season before that he was better than his goal haul suggested. Plus he played under Mourinho for 3/4's of his United career. I think he's a better player than he looked for them.

As for the CL, worse players have won it.
