The top goal-scorers don't exactly come cheap nor is it easy to attract them to where we are now.
We got quite lucky to get Auba signed in the first place given our lack of CL.
It won't be the case with every top player where like in Auba's case relations with the club (Dortmund) completely broke down and lack of competing clubs vying for his signature.
We didn't get lucky at all. He was available in the summer and no big club came for him and in January no other big club made a move again. If we didn't have Lacazette I wouldn't propose selling him, you need to have one established striker in the squad. For me I'd chose Laca because he helps the team more than Auba, so we should be looking at a more young up and coming player to compliment him. Auba is more of a poacher and in games against better teams his limitations become blatantly obvious. He could finish with 25 goals and I'd still feel the same about him. Another reason is the age of the squad is worrying, we have far too many players hitting 30 or above that.
As for who we should buy, I don't really know if I'm being honest. I don't watch as much of non Arsenal matches as I used to but if we are bringing in someone like Monchi I'm sure he'll have a few ideas. You don't always have to pay top buck, plenty of players in the last 5 years have moved who are within our price range, Liverpool's front three for example cost as much as Auba & Laca. We are in no position to be signing established stars, we need to be picking up players just before they make it big time. This is what Sven should have been doing and hopefully what Monchi will.
