We have one of the best penalty takers around in Lacazette.

Auba said last week he made the mistake to look at the ball at the last second. This time he didn't. It obviously means if he sees the keeper not flinching his plan is to hit it in one of the corners, probably low.

Arteta was underrated, I think he only missed one penalty for us and was generally pretty good at holding his nerve.

Arteta was usually good.

Missed one against WBA then we lost that

And one with the last kick of the game in a 3-3 against fulham

I was very surprised he tried to return the pass after Laca’s lovely bit of skill from working in off the left hand side, seemed to be in a great position to let it come across him and have a go himself. Couldn’t believe a striker would pass up that opportunity.

Fair play on taking that penalty after last week though. Would much have preferred Laca to have it though, he’s my fantasy football captain and I transferred Auba out this week!

I dunno about keeping but players I'd get rid of are Auba, Ozil, Xhaka, Mustafi & Mkhi. All on high wages, far too inconsistent in Mustafi's case just plain rubbish. There are actually more players I'd like to get rid of but we won't have much of a squad left then 😉

He's had a few anonymous games, i'll grant you that, but movement and finishing is something we've been crying out for for quite a while. Just my opinion. He won't be going anywhere in the summer, nor do I want him to. Plus, he's a positive character, always smiling, has seemingly good relationships with a lot of players in the squad. That isnt something you always have.

Pretty much. I can understand the logic of being proactive and sign his successor this summer but there's no upside from selling someone who's scored 18+ league goals without even hitting top form.

Besides, Lacazette himself came into his own once the burden of goal scoring was shared with Auba

He’s not a stone cold killer striker, but he is one of the best in the league still, and more than adequate for our current situation. We should still be able to coax a season or two of this level of productivity out of him before we even begin considering selling him. Personally think both he and Lacazette will improve in their combination with each other and with teammates in coming seasons.

I actually think between Lacazette and Auba we have a good mix. Lacazette is more of a killer who will get his hands dirty and fight for every ball but he rarely blows teams away. Meanwhile Auba is more likely to poach a goal from anywhere and blow teams away when he's on form. Plus they have one of the few genuine partnerships in the team, would be a shame to break that up.

Lauren and Cole were good too.

De Gea has been in goal for Utd since 2011?

This. He's done nothing but score since he arrived while looking imperfect. He's our first Golden Boot candidate in almost a decade. And you want to ship him straight out? Clearly guys who score this easily don't grow on trees

Hes way better at taking them than Auba and hes actually taken a lot more than him too despite being a couple years younger.

Smashing them into the roof is obviously safest but nerves and exhaustion pose a big risk obviously. The best ever penalty taker was Gaizka Mendieta who has never missed one in professional football and he would also always side foot it, 90% of the time he would send the keeper the wrong way but even if the keeper waited long enough he had enough force on them and placed them far enough in the corner that the goalie couldn't get to it.

Other players nowadays like Haller, Max Kruse or Ryad Boudebouz do pretty much the same thing and none of them has missed a penalty in their career either.

Auba said he practices in training so hopefully he’s got the other side figured out too. I must say though I would rather Laca take them.

Abit like Jorginho who looked like an absolute fool when Ederson didn't move. Hazard technique for this kind of penalty is probably the best, he hardly misses.

Alan Shearer is probably my fav PK taker ever. I love players who have the balls and accuracy to ram it in every time. Kane is pretty good with his side foot finish in penalties as well, easily as good as Lacazette who is our best
