Fuck Dortmund, they wouldn't be a CL club if they were in England. Maybe Auba wanted to play in a better league, at a bigger, classier club.

Given his age I would expect the money on offer at Arsenal played a major part in Auba's decision.
Neither club looked likely to be CL contenders when the decision was made did they? Though Dortmund do have a better pedigree than us on the CL front, their mediocre recent showings would hardly inspire a player to forgo moving to London and playing PL football for big money.
It's a mercenary game but at least Auba is worth it.
We'd be in dire straits if he wasn't here.

A very bizarre comment by the Dortmund CEO, I know things went a bit bitter towards the end but he seems to have bought it up out of the blue. Also Dortmund were in the Europa cup like us when he left....

Possibly residual bitterness because of Auba's actions prior to his transfer?

I think Wilson or Auba should get it. They've been absolutely crucial to their respective team. De Bruyne racking up assists isn't half as remarkable when City have an attack that is on for a billion goals this season.

I haven’t seen passing like this since DB10. He’s putting the ball on people’s heads. It’s a precision passing party every time he has the ball. I love watching him play. Before he receives the ball you see him scanning the field to locate all the actors and decide his next move. As soon as he receives the ball, he’s already calculated an inch-perfect pass. It’s the only thing I love about watching City. The rest leaves me cold oddly enough

Think that's Auba's second PL POTM award in a year. The last Arsenal player who earned two or more was van Persie (3), but his were spread out over 6 years.

It’s an award that’s voted for by the public isn’t it? As long as an Arsenal player is nominated they’ll probably win.
