laca is a great player, but hes a central striker, not a winger, not an AM, not a false nine. he doesnt have the stamina/work rate to play on the wing. if we're not going to play 2 strikers, then he should be on the bench. we have no backup strikers right now at all, no one to bring on to change things up. id rather start with nelson on the LW, auba in the middle and pepe out wide right, and then if you need to change things up at halftime or later, you bring on laca and his stamina isnt an issue.

but if nelson isnt going to be starting XI material, then i think we should be looking to buy a world class LW

Lacazette should be our back-up striker, not shoe-horned on the wing, or played centrally ahead of Aubameyang. This won't be fixed until we have a proper left-winger.

I’m not sure Iwobi’s standard 3 goals per season would have made a material difference to us finishing in the top 4

Averaging around 4 dribbles per game in the league compared to Iwobi's 1 per game.

It's a bit boring to have the same conversation over and over, but selling Iwobi was a bad mistake by Emery, and I think it's going to be recognised as such at the end of the season. The last two games have just highlighted it. They were both crying out for the things he brought to our game.

Even if Nelson blows hot & cold we still have Martinelli, ESR and Saka we can use as well as Mkhi.

TBH the only reason we're thinking of him is because Pepe isn't up to speed, and as yet and we have no clear replacement identified for the left flank.
I don't think selling him was a mistake rather than perhaps being an offer too good to refuse.

Going to make an Iwobi thread on the football forum so we can stick to one thread on him without it spilling over on here. Every time he fucks up/does fuck all I will post there and say ‘I told you so’ and every time he does well, vice versa. Deal? That’s what threads on football forums are for right?

Not advisable as that would simply result in a back and forth that is never interesting in the long run as this is an Arsenal forum with very little interest in Everton.
