Heard on the radio the FBI was asking for public cooperation and for submission of videos so they could identify the perpetrators, when we watched the whole thing live on tv. I can only imagine how many cameras are in the Capitol building. They need help identifying the perpetrators. Like they don’t know where Trump and his acolytes are sleeping tonight.

I agree that you do not get to do certain things, I disagree that doing those things should automatically be punishable by death.

I agree also that there isn't an equal application of the law and that the behaviour of the police seemed to be influenced by the makeup of the crowd, I still don't see why shooting more people inside the Capitol would have been the right thing to do though.

More violence is never the right thing, Y Va. we are just conditioned to it. But it does help if you are also faced with violence. Once those cops had made the initial mistake of being outnumbered, they had to fall back and protect legislators. And every action was into gah end. They stood their ground, used tasers. And then shot that woman. It’s not like they were shooting everyone.

Flip this story. They actually seemed to be doing the right things for the most part. Not the actions of the summer where Trump was hyping them up to go beat in protestors’ skulls

6 republican lawmakers have been identified as being part of the mob. there's a deep well of conservative christian zealotry at play here as well, that's going to be brushed over. these peoples religious beliefs make them feel they're morally justified carrying out some kind of crusade against a perceived occupying force

Defeating socialism is paramount.
They had posters of a beheaded Karl Marx. Many interviewees talked about fighting socialism. What I hate is news reporters never ask them to explain what socialism is

Capitol Police Chief and Senate Sergeant at Rms have been sacked.

Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio), the House Democrat who oversees funding for the Capitol police, told reporters there would be swift fallout from the deadly security breach.

Ryan praised the rank-and-file Capitol police for doing “everything they could” to hold back the mob but said higher ranking officials will be taken to task and likely fired. At least 15 police officers were hospitalized due to the chaos with one in critical condition, according to Ryan.

“For us not to have an expeditious plan — the breach happened at 1 hour and 15 minutes of the Capitol police being able to hold off the mob,” Ryan told reporters Thursday. Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), Ryan’s counterpart in the Senate, said “we need a full investigation on how the Capitol's security was breached this quickly.”

“Inside that building yesterday were the top three people in the line of succession to become president and it took nearly three hours for any Department of Defense response to arrive at the Capitol,” Murphy said. “Why are we spending $700 billion on the military every year if the military can’t effectively defend the United States Capitol from attack?”

There's higher levels that need to be investigated with a focus on those who refused the National Guard and other external help.

they were trying to break into the speaker lobby and democratic congress people were behind that door, they had chairs and desks barricading the door to prevent these terrorists from coming through. that's why i still say more of them should have died. one of the terrorists was telling the cops guarding the door that they should go because "we don't want to see you hurt and when the country hated you [for those unlawful killings] we had your back." a bunch of fascists. they came for a hillbilly coup, they were going to kill and/or kidnap congress people and put them on trial for treason.

I was reading John’s twitter earlier, Meatwad. It’s clear that this was a highly planned coup attempt. At least two of the men had those cable ties. And John has managed to identify that these aren’t regular cable ties. They are handcuff style cable ties. With their guns, mace and cable ties, it’s obvious that these men planned to take lawmakers hostage.

Some folks are treating this like a joke. Same as they did when these terrorists tried to kidnap and kill Meg Whittmer last year. The justice department should go to work on these mofos. Empty Attica and Guantanamo for them
