@ Gaz, It really has. It has direct, real-world consequences that many still don't seem to understand.
The other thing that this really brings up for me is how poorly so many of these people live. I'm not saying it justifies their actions, but this country does not take care of its residents at all. The thing they claim to hate is abstract, distant, and doesn't really exist. What they really hate is themselves and each other, their lives and their situation, and there isn't any rhetorical way to defeat that kind of deeply irrational thought and wanton rage that is born from the moment an experience is cleaved from it's reality and, over time, becomes a carefully constructed hypocrisy.
Going to war with these people will only cause untold amounts of pain and death. White supremacist terrorism is very well-poised to grow to an even larger, every-second-of-every-day threat in the US, depending on how things go down in the coming days. Worrying.
