I heard it reported that a woman had died, this may be her in a fatally injured state.

You are inhuman if you can look at that and wish there had been more.

The whole episode today reeks of a complete failure of policing, they have known for weeks that there would be protests, they have known that they are dealing with some seriously unhinged people.
There should have been a ring of steel around the Capitol building instead they let a bunch of lunatics free to roam the corridors and then, seemingly panicked, shoot random people.

Y Va it goes back to what was said earlier. The police in America is not historically used against white bodies. That’s who’s you end up with the Oregon federal building occupation by armed terrorists and today. There was enough signaling that today could be problematic that both police and national guard should’ve been ready.

they didn't shoot a random person. they shot a terrorist as she was breeching the floor of congress. they're lucky, should have been more of these cretins killed.

nothing random about them once they were in the capitol.

I do understand that Claudius- that is what I meant when I said it was a failure of policing.
It should not have escalated to the point where people were getting shot in the Capitol Building itself.

Of course shouldn't have been shot. "imagine what would've happened if these were BLM protests" isn't an argument for shooting the Trump goons. Two wrongs don't make a right etc. It's just a weird American mindset that shooting people is the only course of action when feeling threatened.

did you see the video? she certainly deserved to be shot. you do not get to break into the senate chamber unencumbered. there are certain things you do not get to do and if you choose to do them you face the consequences.

notice the only one that got shot was the first terrorist trying to come into the chamber after they broke the glass. no one was shooting at them when they were in the stairwell beating on the door and breaking the glass, just when they breeched the last line of defense. first one to come through is the first one to get shot, the rest fell back so no need to shoot more. they exercised great restraint, more than these terrorists deserved.

It seems these people were warned and they kept trying to breach to the interior of the building, reducing distance to themselves and legislators. The initial problem here was one of preventative security. These crowds should’ve been managed. But we should also not absolve protestors of responsibility. When you undertake violent protest, you take risk. And it can end like this unfortunately.

Shocking scene. But even in the most pacifist countries in the world, a mob charging at the seats of power would result in a bullet to the head. The fact that they managed to get this close is pretty damning when the rest of the time US police walk around in Iron Man suits.
