the NFL is garbage
the entire structure of the league is a sham. it is the most physically damaging sport after boxing, and yet the contracts are not guaranteed. teams are allowed to sign players to these sham contracts, where it can be 5 years, but only the first year or two are guaranteed, and if the player declines or gets hurt, the team can just cut them and toss the player on the scrap heap. the rookie scale is ridiculous, and teams routinely run players into the ground on their rookie contract, then toss them aside when it is time to pay them real money.
luck isnt the first young guy to retire early, but hes obviously the highest profile guy to do this since barry sanders. i hope it becomes a trend, and i hope the NFL starts to rapidly decline over the next decade. its a corrupt sport with shitty owners, and until the pendulum swings to the players, i hope the league fails
