He needs to go.
Emery shouldn’t be killed though, this is a natural process.
After Wenger it was never going to be easygoing, we were going to have to go through different managers. To identify the right man, and to see him implement his vision and style was always going to be difficult.
Emery was never a stand out candidate. Jardim appeared to never be in the running, Farve was at Dortmund etc.
It seemed a straight race between Emery and Arteta, Arteta who never managed before and seemingly wanted a few assurances.
Emery won a race which was handicapped in his favour. Two of the men who really liked him, have now left.
To me, it is natural to look at alternatives.
This end of season run, has frankly, been pure relegation form. Losing to Everton, Wolves, Palace, Leicester, drawing with Brighton, with Watford our sole victory. We will get turned over by Burnley too. To get 4 points in that run, with Champions League qualification in our hands, is incredible. We can look at all sort of excuses, but to be in that position without facing any of the top sides in the run in, and absolutely implode, shows the cracks in the squad and in the managerial approach.
A clean slate is needed, and rather than give Emery money and time to probably confirm what we can already see, just get rid and bring in someone else.
