Perfect fodder for conspiracy theorists, who ever it is that you hate dunnit or, Orient Express style, they all dunnit.

It seems improbable that this was a straightforward case of suicide and just as improbable that we will get the unvarnished facts from a source that is trusted by a majority of people independent of their political persuasion.

Hope I'm wrong about that, but given the power and profile of the names associated with Epstein it does appear that the truth will never see the light of day.
Or even if it did it wouldn't be recognised as such anyway.

Well, I guess the important point is that he was in a prison cell. Judging from what Acosta said they stopped that from happening the first time round:

'Acosta reportedly told Trump’s transition team that he had been told to go easy. He told his interviewers, “I was told Epstein ‘belonged to intelligence’ and to leave it alone,” according to Ward. It is unclear who was instructing Acosta.'

So, I'm just hoping that the lengths that these people went to protect themselves this time around is an indication of how desperate they are.

Attorney General William P. Barr issued the following statement:

“I was appalled to learn that Jeffrey Epstein was found dead early this morning from an apparent suicide while in federal custody. Mr. Epstein’s death raises serious questions that must be answered. In addition to the FBI’s investigation, I have consulted with the Inspector General who is opening an investigation into the circumstances of Mr. Epstein’s death."

Unlikely but not impossible. Clinton was an egregious case of a predator, even worse than Trump (at least from what's publicly known right now) in that he kept true to his ways even when he became president. Wouldn't rule out him being exposed if this investigation spiralled out of control and someone even more powerful fed him to the media to protect themselves. It sounds unrealistic but then again we're talking about billionaire and presidential nonces who built themselves a paedophile haven on an island.

They're not desperate, they can make this go away with denials and expensive legal teams.

To think that people were foaming at the mouth over the #metoo and all of those it would bring down.

I've seen people honestly claiming that the imperviousness of the elites to sanction or punishment of any kind means they wouldn't even have bothered to assassinate Epstein.

To me it's just as likely there are people out there who'd have offed him just to mitigate the downside risk on a few stock prices or political relationships.

I can imagine that he committed suicide but it's so easy to imagine the alternatives I'd like to see some credible investigation of the circumstances of his death. I doubt we will.

Temo mentioned it a page ago it shouldn't be this easy committing suicide in genpop or solitary, yet it's happened so many times in high profile cases here, in the US or elsewhere. Who knows whether it was a suicide, assisted or otherwise, but one thing that should make you suspicious is how a bunch of news outlets immediately started comparing people who are not convinced by the account given to people doubting the moon landing, tin foil hat wearers etc. When even the AG said there needs to be a full investigation into what occurred in Epsteins cell.

There should be camera footage of at least the vicinity of his cell. There should be a clear statement of why he had the means to hang himself which he wouldn't have ordinarily. There should be a coroner's report, and so on and so forth. Wait and see I guess. Not expecting much.

The protestors literally ragdolled an alleged undercover cop until he was unconscious, it's not astonishing that no one got killed that's good policing, no way that would've ended that way here.

Absolutely right, Jones. The restraint that cop showed was incredible. The number of videos we've seen where American cops have gone Rambo with semi-automatics in less perilous situations makes you wonder how they would've reacted.

The protestors were largely peaceful to be fair. It was only when the police starting being violent few weeks ago this whole movement became uncontrollable

Who cares really? There's no point analysing a protest involving hundreds of thousands of people through the lens of one violent incident that happened to go viral.
