Watching Hoffenheim vs Stuttgart. Very low on quality. Nelson has been poor on the few occasions he has got the ball, but that's about 4 times in the whole half.
He's playing as a very narrow right forward in a 3 man attack. Not suiting him at all and he's either not allowed to roam and find the ball or he hasn't been clever enough to find space. Not that there's been anyone that has the quality to pass to him even if he did. Looking like an 18 year old right now though.

Stuttgart down to 10 men, so if Nelson stays on there should be more chance for him to get into the game in the second half.

Also, pleased to see Sancho get another couple of goals for Dortmund today. He's got a totally different situation to Nelson and so I'd expect a player like him to rack up good numbers in a dominant team, but I love his style of play and confidence. Plays exactly as he always did in youth football.

Brilliant, brilliant stuff from Nelson! Great close control in the box to go through two challenges and then forces the keeper into a decent save and the rebound is tucked away.

Now 2-0! No involvement for Nelson though.

4-0 now, Hoffenheim running riot against the 10 men of Stuttgart. Nelson not directly involved in the 3 later goals, but his assist for the crucial goal that broke the deadlock was outrageous.

Doesn't do it justice, can't see the killer drag back:

Nice! Hopefully he can learn to produce that more consistently at the top level.

He's got to see more of the ball to start doing that. Not sure whether it was his fault or his team mates--my eyes tell me it was mainly the latter because he was finding pockets of space, but he just didn't get passed the ball anywhere near often enough to make more of an impact.

Just saw the highlights from that game. That was some drag back for the opener. Also he helped create the space for the 2nd goal by ensuring the last defender couldn't commit to either side.

I agree with you that he probably isn't getting passed the ball enough at this stage to have the kind of impact Sancho is having at Dortmund. Hopefully as he gets more games he will be trusted more and show off his dribbling ability. He does seem to have good awareness to find space.

Massive talent.

Much better angles in this one. High level stuff.

Also worth noting that's Pavard he's fooling with the drag back, not any old Bundesliga defender.

That's incredible. I like that he's got the audacity to take the shot too. He had every right to try after that dribbling raid.

Edit: On repeated viewing it actually looks like the ball gets deflected off the defending player on the ground. It would probably have gone straight in otherwise.

I doubt that was shot rather than an attempt at a cross just as he slipped as he connected with the ball.

That said, it's now what? 5 goals in 5 games for Hoff? Great stats no matter which way you look at it. Seems to be taking the BL by storm although I wonder why he's first choice for them in each BL game and then goes to the bench in the CL games?

Great goal Kramaric.

Hoffenheim 1-0 Augsburg. It’s a good game. Hoffenheim scores against the run of play

Nelson isn’t on yet

1-1 Now

Augsburg equalizes. Quality through pass and finish

Nelson on now. Last 8 minutes or so

Lol. It’s impossible

He scores with basically his first touch!

Is he on Southgate radar? They need a Welbeck replacement

6 goals for Nelson, as many as Dembele scores in his season at Dortmund πŸ˜›

Nelson is on a tear. Even the manager only giving him 8 minutes doesn't stop him.

Great to have such an exciting talent coming through.

Chuffed Reiss has scored again.

Now sitting down to watch his mate Jadon Sancho take on Bayern Munich. Should be a good game.

Nice, now just 25 assists more and we've saved ourselves 140m

Sancho struggling a bit here, but this is big boy stuff. Frenetic pace.

Interested to see Gnabry for the first time for a long while.

Bayern look so vulnerable to the counter attack.

Lewandowski is garbage these days.

He has been poor to be fair.

Sancho has lost the ball every time he has got it.

πŸ˜†

Sancho struggling badly.

Weigl has been just as bad. Really really poor.

Sancho's pace and energy is giving Alaba a bit of trouble; he's making him do some serious running on transitions. On the ball though Alaba has eaten him alive.

Is the right his natural side? Can make a big difference in terms of taking people on.

He's the most left-sided player I've ever seen in my life. In that respect he's very one dimensional. His whole game is based around cutting in from that left side.

That said, he does have a very good cross from the right. Has the ability to whip it very accurately and fast, but he's struggling to work that yard up against Alaba. And he's had plenty of opportunities to go at him one-v-one.

Nelson's goal. Great celebration. πŸ˜†

Apparently he should of had 2 assists and nearly scored another back heel goal. Didn't come on until the 82nd minute!

Weigl off, Dahoud on. He ran Sancho close for worst player on the pitch so makes sense.

Great awareness to start the run so early!

The rightback and the centreback though, dear god πŸ˜†

Penalty!

Neuer was sooo slow off his line there. Still think it might have been cute from Reus though.

Reus sticks the pen away! 1-1.
