You're right Pepe.

Don't really feel any better about the result today though because I'm still thinking about all the "ifs" and it still bugs me that Wenger left Denilson and Diaby in midfield for as long as he did.
The thought that we are reduced to having to play them in vital games makes my heart sink.
I still don't understand why he didn't play Ramsey for the last 15 minutes. He'd surely have contributed more than Rosicky?
Have a bit of a major worry about Jack too this morning.

Sorry, you were being upbeat and I just put a downer on things again.

I do think Liverpool will take points off United today though 🙂

This is becoming a bit like A-M!! Way up after every good result, massively down after every bad or mediocre result.

10 games left. 3 points in it. Utd are shit away from home. Everything to play for.

Dead right mate. I'm pissed off today, but overall I'm staying positive. I won't even do my block if/when we don't make it through in the CL.

I just wish we were really pushing them, one point down waiting for the fumble today - and we should be. We can't afford to slip up like this week in week out.

It's got to the stage in the season, Tim, where every game is vital. If United win today, and I 'm convinced they will, we're in big trouble, we're running out of time to catch them, and it doesn't help our cause at all to throw away 2 points like we did yesterday.

Ricky, Utd will drop points in the run-in. you know it. Every away game is a lottery for them. And they've got Chelsea at home, which could go either way. I'm not saying we will definitely win the league, just that we will have plenty of chances between now and the end of May.

Personally, I think it's all gonna come down to Utd at The Emirates.

we are probably going to drop a lot more points in the run-in. i'd say man u are the clear favorites to win.

our second string of players (bendtner, denilson, diaby, chamack, squillaci etc) are not good enough and you know our injury troubles will not get better...

If there was any justice in this life Nani would pick up a two or three month injury.

From what I saw in the stands today, it WAS an attitude problem.

Nobody seemed willing to take responsibility, no individual looked ready to stand up and be counted.

Really? Thought Nasri, Arshavin and Jack worked their socks off trying to make something happen.

Diaby and Denilson were the main problem today because they were too slow in moving the ball on and often picked the wrong passes. Both have always been this way and I'm pretty sure it's because they can't think quick enough rather than a lack of urgancy.

Yep - I don't mean every player, for every minute of the entire game, but there were absolutely stretches of the game where nobody really fancied standing up and taking responsibility. At dead balls and throw ins in particular, too many players looked happy to mooch around miles away from the ball, looking for someone else to take the initiative and get involved.

I thought it was another extremely nervous performance, really - on a different day, with a better ref, things might have been different, but we never really got into a particular stride.

Well, he's just gone off injured....

Anyway, the result itself was not a disaster. But hard not to be massively disheartened by another feeble performance under pressure. Just constantly get the feeling that no matter how many points Utd drop, Arsenal will contrive to drop more.

2-0 Pool at half time, I have a whiff of justice now Asa ...

We may shoot ourselves in the foot from time to time but United are not actually that good Asa

I'll take that back if they come back and beat Liverpool but so far today they've been rubbish.

They haven't been all season, yet they're still top of the league.

They're hitting an even worse run of form away from home now Asa.
All those jammy draws are turning into losses.
We've been far more consistent since Christmas.
Their superb home record has kept them in this.

prior to a big champions league game this had 1-0 home victory for a real title challenger all over it and we did enough to get that, so i'm not disappointed in the team and feel they have what it takes. we probably would have lost this game in years past for a real sucker punch. fucking manchester born refs finding away to please fungus.

if they lose this one, they're three points ahead of us with one more match played?

Our form since Christmas has been built about 80% around the brilliance of Van Persie. Now he's injured.

True Asa.
We'll just have to see what kind of results we can dig out while he's injured.

Getting Cesc and Song back plus Ramsey as back up would help enormously as it would eliminate the need to play either Denilson or Diaby.

Cesc and Nasri link well together - I'd expect Nasri to score more with Cesc on the pitch.

We have a real problem with Cesc missing, as we saw in this match, not just because he's such a quality player but because he's the only player we have who really looks for the forward pass whenever he can, and does it exceptionally well.

Denilson reached new levels of awfulness yesterday when he decided to abandon even the sideways pass in favour of backward ones.
The one to Clichy (if I remember correctly) right before halftime was particularly impressive.

I know what you mean but even without Cesc, we are still creative and I know you may disagree but I also feel that we've been quite defensively robust. Losing Robin is a massive blow but for whatever reason (maybe hopless naivety) I do still feel more positive about this team. A lot of that has to do with the fact we have a 'new' GK, an amazing 'new' talent in Jack and 'new' (more confident) Nasri. The only issue that remains, is a striker who we can rely on for goals and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Bendtner can prove himself.

I'd like to caveat all this by saying these comments derive from hope more than belief. 🙂
