  • Arsenal v Sunderland | Premier League | Saturday 5th March 2011 - 15.00

I don't think we choked today or were not committed. We worked extremely hard and once Sunderland got tired it was only us. We can't score 5 goals every game, we scored one and had a clear penalty.

Give us the penalty or allow Arshavin's goal from the tight offside call and everybody would sing a different tune. The players are not bottles or chokers because with those chances we had we would easily be 3-0 up, aswell as those mega-important calls changing games. That ref should never step on our pitch again. Disgusting.

You people are mental. We can't play well every game. We had most of our creative players missing and had to endure the shitness of Diaby and Denilson. We created enough chances, scored a perfectly valid goal and got robbed of a clear pen and a red. The only reason we didn't win this game is officials.

We pretty much won this game, and I'm sure that the goal and the penalty would have been given if manU had not just lost. Fucking shameful. Arshavin must feel robbed.

Credit to Samir Nasri today. One of the few who looked actually bothered before the 70th minute. He didn't deserve that result.

Done over by the official who ruled out a legitimate goal.

Worryingly few shots on target.

Where are our goals going to come from without Robin and Cesc on the pitch?

I never again want to see Diaby and Denilson together in midfield.
Actually I never want to see Denilson again full stop.

Damaging result. Really handed the initiative back to United.

The only thing I can think of that's even remotely positive is that this is the kind of game we'd have lost last season.

Sczcesny and Djourou made a big difference.

1638: Samir Nasri sets Andrey Arshavin in down the left and the Russian gets into the box with Titus Bramble breathing down his neck - he gets his shot away, but it screws badly off target and doesn't threaten Simon Mignolet.

Look at this from the BBC 😆

Unbelievable really.

Why were we not on top for 70 mins?

Maybe but we had a perfectly good goal ruled out and a pen not given that likely would have been another goal had Shava not been fouled.

In a game as tensely poised in a title race with so many out those decision really do play a massive part.

And bar the 2 big decisions he allowed them foul us to break up play time and time again but every foul for us he pulled out a card. Ideally we would win anyway, like we did in the Everton match but really refereeing like that has an absolutely massive impact.

Denilson was the only player that costed us in this match too, not Bendtner not Diaby.

Sunderland pressed well in the first half, we didn't conceed and once they got tired it was all us.

I am not as angry at the team as at the officials.

I am sorry but we were robbed. It is unfair to say it shouldn't come to that.

am so fucking pissed right now, same shit over and over and over

I just don't what to say with this team any more. They really do kill us don't they? I'm like a schizo sitting here right now - raging, shaking anger, with moments of quiet resignation.

Yeah, agree with Gurgen, Rohit and a couple of others. I thought we were really unlucky. Couldn't have asked for much more from the team we had on the park. My only gripe would be with Wenger for starting Denilson and Diaby in centre mid.

Actually had a sneaky feeling we'd lose today.

Yup. The bias is truly unbelievable. I laughed out loud when he called a foul by Nasri for being too close to a Sunderland player.

Championship winning teams win 1-0 every now and then but if we aren't allowed to do that what do we do really.

Really? I'm a big fan of Samir but today he made so many poor decisions. Held onto the ball too long, too often. Not his usual self.

I thought Kos, Djourou and Szczesny were great. Jack was good too. Chamakh looked a different player when he came on to what we've seen recently.

Exactly. When other teams win at the death it's character. We are supposed to be 4-0 up within 20 minutes and if we aren't 'it shouldn't have come to that'. Bollocks to that crap. Robbed plain and simple, and not for the first time this season.

All this in bold despite having to endure Diaby and Denilson for most of the game too. Sickening. There was this moment towards the end where some thug hacked Wilshere down with a sliding tackle in the back and Taylor just let it slide, only for Djourou to recover the ball perfectly fine and get a freekick against him. I swear, if I'd had a gun I would've pulled the trigger on that bald fuck.

Fair enough but Chamakh could have smashed it into the net.

I hope if we don't win the league people won't be blaming it on the refs because our problems will then be forever glossed over.

I don't know how anyone can defend that performance. We were utter shit up until Chamakh came on. Either we're colossal chokers, or simply not good enough. It's hard to tell the difference with this team. And to reiterate, fuck off Diaby & Denilson. Ramsey coming back hopefully will see one them sold.
