Managed to watch extended highlights of the PSG-Liverpool game. It looked like the Scousers got shown up, especially in the first half.

If PSG turned up I fully expected that to happen. Surprised at a fair number of people I spoke to thinking Liverpool would win.

Their new found squad depth is pulling the wool over a lot of eyes because they are winning most weeks in the League because of it. They're nothing all that special 1 to 11. To a lesser degree, it was a similar story with City last season, and this to be honest.

Squad depth doesn't count for too much when you face proper teams in the Champions League.

What's odd about Liverpool is it seems Klopp has reined them in, despite them having a strong defense this year. The speed at which and frequency they got forward last year was their largest strength. Now they've muted that in favor of more control, but none of their forwards nor their midfield seem fit for a slower approach.

Plus they're playing Henderson again

PSG weren't even that good, Mbappé and Cavani especially were poor. PSG at 100% would put five past Liverpool

Verratti was a class above Pool's midfield. Granted he should have been sent off for that horror challenge, but it's a bit rich seeing the scousers still complain about it considering how dirty and regressive they themselves played all game.

To be fair they're playing a makeshift defence, Maksimovic a centre half at RB and Rui isn't even half the player Ghoulam is.

Still wonder if they shouldn't have started with Milik and brought Mertens on later
