I woke up feeling like shit, like Arsenal lost a big important match. I kept thinking, why the fuck am I feeling this way about some neutral match not involving my own team? I was literally trembling for Ajax the whole of 2nd half and biting my nails as if they were my team.
I think it's because I grew up with Arsenal looking down on those cunts. We used to win them so easily. We hit a new low when they finally finished above us, but at least we were still in the UCL with them. We then hit another low when we are finally out of UCL and they are challenging for the league, but at least we can take some solace and laughed at them for just "challenging" while we win FA Cups. Make no mistake but this is an all new low. We are struggling to qualify for the premier competition while they are in the final. They are in the final having spent 1 bn on a new stadium, having had 2 windows that they signed completely zero players, not even a single youth player. And we lived so long so used to believing Wenger telling us we had to suffer a decade because of our new stadium.
Why couldn't we enjoy watching Llorente vs Origi in the final? I think its the manner of it thats upsetting. Liverpool was a Draxler square ball to Mbappe away from Europa League, or 2 Dembele sitters. Spurs are even worse. They are in the final because Inter couldn't beat an already eliminated PSV at home, because City is totally inept and Ajax ran out of gas, couldn't live with the intensity of a premierleague team having just played a cup final themselves on Sunday. It was pure luck that the 2nd goal went through 2 player's legs, last shot skidded off 2 players studs into goal while every Ajax shot hit Lloris or the post. Ajax beat Juventus and Madrid away, then bottled a 3 goal lead at home to Llorente and Sissoko fueled Spurs. It was really hard to take that there's a possibility of Spurs singing “Champions of Europe you’ll never sing that" to us next season. These are history making stuffs we will never get back again thanks to some inept fuckers from our club to totally let them overtake us completely. Just imagine Alli or Tripper face lifting the big ears...
That coupled with the progressive attacking managers they have while we have one who for all his merits like to set up teams to defend against their strengths instead of playing our own attacking game. I really hope next season we can change things all round, big revolutionary changes to our squad to give our manager a proper change to judge him, but it will be a long long road away from the top and will probably take a 5 year cycle or something. Even if we win the Europa League to get into the UCL, I bet all of us will be depressed souls and sick of football if Spurs win the UCL.
