Let's be honest here, they are in a CL final because they lucked out with the draw and at certain key moments. Same as Mourinho's last Europa League victory.
Tottenham have become a decent team, but that's not the reason why they are disputing this final. Just like Monaco's 2004 team, they've just found themselves there.
It's horrible that they might win it, and worse still that they will certainly gloat about it forever, but it's silly to pretend that they have earned it at some higher level.
It hurts because usually you can always count on Tottenham to screw things up, and here they are, not screwing things up yet.
To make the situation less traumatic I will bet at least 50 quid on them to win it. If they don't I won't care, and if they do I will materially benefit from it. Tomorrow I'll head to the store and pick some exotic and expensive liquour to purchase with my bet money in the event that they do win it.
