These awards have always been garbage
Individual awards in team sports is generally a lousy idea. And even if the idea was to analyse every player in every team to come up with an informed point about who had the biggest positive positional influence for their club there's no one in the world who's going to go through all that data.
People will always want them. A nice little debate to have like iOS vs Android. How do you compare exploits across competitions? Players across positions? Nobody fucking knows, but it keeps media houses alive
Salah's award is a joke. Just take a look at the past winners and then his goal.
