I'm generally a critic of Özil and his all too frequent lackadaisical showings but there are like ten Germans worse than him this tourney. How on earth do you look at that utter shitshow from Kroos and still single out Özil? I'd go a step further and have him as the worst player of the tournament, literally at fault for every goal bar the last meaningless one.

Because journos realise that half the readers haven't actually watched the matches and just latch onto sentiment. They peddle the easy narratives.

Ozil created tons of chances that the rest of the bumbling idiots couldn't convert. The 2 or 3 wide open chances for Gomez and Hummels spring to mind.

For me, Mueller was literally the worst person on the pitch in all the games he played. I have no idea what happened to him, but he was actually painful to watch

Or Boateng and Muller? Both of them were ten times worse than Ozil.
