He's absolute dogshit defensively. The only reason he's a full back is because he's reasonably fast and has a decent cross, I'd literally rather Welbeck there if you expect your RB to defend

Reasonably fast is pushing it. Part of why he's so bad defensively is because he doesn't have that recovery speed that so many other modern fullbacks have that also can't defend. He's just a very average player in everything bar his crossing.
