Who was the Fulham coach who converted him? Was it Hogdson? Pretty amazing to finally find a position that he can excel him. He started as a striker in Eredivise ffs.

But it was painfully obvious he was superb as a DM back at Fulham too, often dominating big games himself. Only Spurs dare to gamble on him.

Judging by the frownlines on Woodward's forehead, they're starting to realise that the main problem is Mourinho and not the players.

It's amazing how United can keep repeating all the same mistakes. They have all the money in the world and not an ounce of common sense to go with it. If they had taken Pochettino instead of van Gaal four years ago they'd have at least one league title to their name now. Same if they'd taken him in 2016. They could have brought in two players in January for the wages they're paying Sanchez. It's always about the prestige with them, never about the actual class.

Not that I disagree about United's modus operandi but I highly doubt they'd have won a title with Pochettino at the helm.

Just last season he finished behind United and Mourinho despite Spurs having the arguably better squad

He finished 3rd in a two horse race. That bronze medal won by virtue of losing 5-1 on the last matchday vs 10 men already relegated Newcastle fucking United

His biggest achievement in his career is putting the fucking pressure on but whenever he got close to a title he folded like a bitch.

Just to be clear he's not a bad manager at all. Just painfully overrated and a trophy dodger

Possibly. Pochettino was just one example; there's a dozen managers in Europe who are lacking in profile but would have had an excellent shot at trophies with United, but they went for two washed-up failures instead.

Similarly, reading Red Café right now (I make no apologies for my schadenfreude) people seem to think Alexis went bad over night. People who watched him at Arsenal saw him lose that yard of pace around Christmas 2016. It's amazing how deeply embedded this is into their club culture. No wonder Alex Ferguson could lead the team to the brink of destruction, cram one last great season out of an aging squad where the majority of he players were way past it, and then walk away as a legend without facing a single line of criticism.

yep, sanchez looked busted in his last 6 months with us, and i don't think it had much to do with his contract situation. he'd just maxed himself out as a player and the only way was down

I called this back then. A lot of people said he wasn't performing for us because he was unhappy, but his performances for Chile dropped a ton and led to us throwing away our world cup qualification.

Whatever the cause for his struggles it was never about Arsenal.

Mind you, I would expect Alexis would be playing a million times better under Guardiola or Emery than he is at the moment under Mourinho.
