Based on today's showing, it's a bit of both. United were better in the first half but once Kane scored they immediately gave up.

No one would have predicted a 3-0 win for Spurs at half time

We apparently offered £10 million for Jorginho in the January window two years ago though. Napoli confirmed it. I'm so glad that everyone who was involved in that bid, from manager to negotiating team, has been sacked.

If that's the January that we got Elneny then we had an agreement in place with Atletico for Saul Niguez but it got nixed at the last minute because some other midfielder of theirs got injured. I think it might be nice to have the people involved in that bid who were able to identify the likes of Saul and Jorginho still at the club.

I think it was the January after that, in 2017. Not exactly hard to identify Jorginho as a target when he was possibly the best midfielder in Italy not playing for Juventus.

Mourinho no doubt will complain that United didn't throw half a million at his squad but those complaints ring hollow given that Pochettino literally signed no one over the summer
