Did Sane get called up?
Nope

You missed the controversy. No
Low needs to make another change.

It seems like a pre-meditated move.
Don't like it.
Taken the pressure off Germany.
Maybe that’s what Mexico are hoping for. To draw the Germans in and kill them on the break with Layun. Germans are looking like Argentina two days ago. Lots of possession yielding nothing
This German side is a joke. Lack of pace and movement in all areas of the pitch.
Layun needs a scolding
this is such poor football. One goal lead, and forget everything. 3 on 2 counter doesn't work so ball goes back alll the way to the goalkeeper. Boring to watch.
has Muller even been playing? ive barely heard his name

Will be more hilarious if they lose.
Loew is a joke, as well, for me.
Against a half decent attack, Germany would have shipped 6 or 7 today.
Germany need to go younger and quicker. Brandt and Goretzka needs to be in the starting eleven.
What a hit, off the post
damn, great technique. off the bar
What an important result this is going to be. We could be seeing Brazil with a chance to gain revenge for the 7-1 mauling against Germany in the last 16

Yeah this game better serve as a wake up call.
Low too static in team selection, and that has transcended into their play.
YASSSSS MEXICO. Get the fuck in
granted Mexico were in defensive mode for the entire second half, but i can't say they didnt deserve it
Germany were not much better when they won it going forward, but defensively they’ve been shocking this game.

Jerome "Pascal Cygan" Boateng.
Shocking display from Germany. Completely static all over the pitch. If they don't watch out they'll do a Spain 2014.
Germany looked really poor in both midfield and attack
Khedira, Kroos, Boateng and Hummels looked like they are pretty much done as professional footballers.
I don't think its their defence to be blame, the shocking thing is their midfield. Kroos is slow as fuck, Khedira is past it massively and Ozil has never been good defensively. That trio is asking for trouble. Mexico cut them apart time and time again easily and if Chicharito hasn't been so off with his passing it would have been 5-0 easily.
I applaud the bravery of the Mexican manager for the tactic of keeping 3 forwards up top when they were defending.
How was Ozil the second deepest player for the Mexico goal? Something not right there.
Kimmich pushes up, Ozil dropped to receive the ball

Did you see Hummels for that goal? Hilarious defending. Mustafi would be proud.
Goal aside, Ozil was awful and truthfully I’m souring on him
Great win for Mexico and well deserved. Germany were horrible. Just waiting for the Brazil game and some samba flair now.
By the way lol @ Fabregas on BBC looking like he's got a ferret sitting on his head.
Great Mexican transitioning....Could have scored a couple more.
Impressed.

Jerome "Pascal Cygan" Boateng.
Boateng was the only reason they didn't concede more for me. Hummels was beyond appalling, only Kimmich and Khedira were probably worse
Viva Mexico!! Incredible performance, wonderful result. Great start to the tournament for El Tri

Thought Khedira is the worst player on the pitch but generally I agree with that.
Mexico is always impressive starters, they need to keep it up. But under Osorio don't think they will go beyond last 16, especially if they face Brazil. 4 years ago they had a decent chance to reach the semis.

Why didn't Mexico get a penalty? Was that incident even referred to VAR? If Griezman gets one then Mexico seemed even more certain to get one. VAR has a long way to go.
VAR is only supposed to be used in instances where the referee has made a clear and obvious error and you're probably going to get different interpretations of what is obvious.
I think FIFA have actually done a much better job of VAR than what we've seen in the FA/League Cup. I think one really good aspect of VAR is that the linesman have been instructed to ignore tight offside calls which I think can make up for some of the downsides.
Apparently Mexican fans literally triggered the earthquake sensors during their game against Germany.
