Checking VAR again. Totally unnecessary.

Yep definitely. It should be a request by the ref.

They need to tweak it quite a bit. Its killing the pace of the game.

Brave yes I can get that.

Am I free to go now?

Go where?

Lol I'm just making a point not telling you off.

Yes, Fekir and Giroud coming on.

Just a bit strange to make that point when 99% of what's written on here, in fact 99% of what football fans talk about anywhere, is fans thinking they know better than coaches.

Surely it'd be a much more worthwhile and interesting conversation if you told me what you think about France's team and how it's set-up? Or what you think Mbappé's best role is? Etc.

This is a typical first WC group game from France - completely uninspired, pedestrian

Those French subs don't make sense to me.

Just play Griezmann behind Giroud.

Giroud, what a man.

What an unlucky goal to concede

Giroud doing Giroud things.

Lucky goal. Not impressed at all by this France team. Kante is probably the only player in that team who isn't overrated.

I just think it's a tournament too early for this French side.

Mbappé will probably be PSG's starting striker by the Euros; bigger, stronger and smarter. Dembele will be a more consistent and reliable player. And hopefully someone will emerge in midfield to give them what they're missing.

I actually don't know Mpabbe's best roles or really care. I don't pretend to be a footy expert and I appreciate you know a lot more about tactics etc. than me. There's no doubt about it and I'm cool with it.

It just stood out to me as odd and arrogant what you said about Deschamps as if he, after a career in football for 30 odd years, that he wouldn't know he could play a player he picked in a particular position. Of course he does. Maybe he prefers other shapes or he's not brave enough. Clever? A bit much for me.

I just picked it out as I'm free to do so.

France have always struggled against these sort of teams. It took them a goal from Laurent Blanc in extra time to see off Paraguay in France 98. I also remember them struggling through the group stages in the 2006 world cup. That was a team that consisted of  Zidane,  Henry, Vieira, Makelele,  Ribery etc

Still struggling to get my head around Umtiti's cock up, what the f**k was he thinking ?

Fucking hernandez eating grass again. Wanker.

Aussies can't cross properly when they get into good positions.

France very lucky. Two shit goals and nothing else.

Sometimes I don't know why I support France.

To get the best out of Griezmann play Giroud from start?
Or at least when Giroud comes on leave Griezmann on the pitch...
France lurched their way to that win.

The more I see that France penalty the more it looks a bad decision. There's a touch on the ball first and then the ball is running away from Griezmann.

Didn't Griezmann touch the ball again after the defender did? And then he got his heel clipped.

Unlucky for the defender and a soft penalty to concede, but it looked like a penalty to me.

Just finished the France game. These guys look like they had their first practice yesterday. A far cry from the Spaniards (who do do benefit from being concentrated in two big clubs). But still. They’ll need to gel quickly. I was not impressed

France have always been disjointed sides filled with quality who churn out results. Status quo resumed.

Disappointed for the Socceroos that they weren't able to gouge a historic point out of the French, the chance was there.

Another VAR decided penalty and an atrocity of an attempt from Cueva.
A mile over.

VAR takes some time, but that's just because the referees don't make the right decision in the first place. All for it.

Good finish. Denmark with the sucker punch. Leading Peru 1-0. Open game

Wahey! What a smash and grab.

Yup. But this side also has some problems with a lack of experience, and players who can go missing for large parts of the game.

Where did Peru get these players from? Most of them don’t look Peruvian to me,more like East LA gangbangers.
