In what has been described as a miracle recovery, France’s Lucas Hernandez will line up against Peru next week despite suffering from 11 concussions and a broken leg in the game against Australia.

Hernandez – who also sustained a spinal injury in the second half – bravely played out the game against Australia even though he broke his leg in the 11th minute, and was frequently concussed.

I was watching the France game in Melbourne and Hernandez wound the Aussies up so badly.
Felt both Peru and Australia deserved more from their games.
France are a big shapeless. I think they needed their best centre forward. A man who knows how to play the 9 and play in wingers and midfielders. Karim.
In his absence, they might be forced to start the handsome one.
France should go with a midfield of:
-----------NZonzi
----Kante--------Pogba/Lemar
I reckon they need Matuidi more than N'zonzi. Why he doesn't start is anyone's guess, but that's the move you make when you switch things up. You go for the in-form, experienced player the rest of the team is already used to playing with, not the 30 year old with four caps to his name. Same reason Giroud is probably much closer to the starting eleven than Fekir.

He wasn't ashamed to admit it
Most footballers would admit it and they really don't see why fans have a problem with it. Only in England hypocrisy reigns supreme.

It's why I find the Ronaldo hate thing amusing.
His Utd history fine but everyone knows players seek unfair advantages here, there and everywhere.
The Ronaldo hate mainly comes from him being the most self-centered prick on this planet.
We are all self-centred. Honestly.
Ronaldo is just on TV every week and his profile is huge given his production.
He's not as bad as before it appears. Dunno if it's his PR team or fatherhood that's changed him.

I guess I just compare his conduct and ego to the likes of Messi, Bergkamp, Henry, etc. Those who were humble even though they knew they were great. (Henry was a bit more ego-centric than Bergie was, but still nowhere even in the same continent as CR).
It also started back before he was a goal scoring machine. He has been the same way since the second he took the pitch for ManUtd (before he had actually won anything) and even probably before that, but I certainly wasnt paying attention to him before that.

I like how you'd rather call everyone of us a self-centered prick before accepting that Ronaldo might be a bit more in love with himself than everyone else.

No I said we are all self-centred. You're calling everyone pricks.
I said I think Ronaldo is a great character. I never said he didn't have flaws.
Can we limit the Ronald chat to the Portugal group thread?
Ronaldos ego work ethic is too big to be confined to just one thread
Some people just forgive athletes anything because the fanboyism is stronger than anything else. It's much worse when journalists do it though and unfortunately in sports, most journalists are just fanboys as well. The morning after the Spain game there were all kinds of triumphant articles about how Ronaldo "had stuck one to the Spanish" who dared to fine him for tax fraud. He stole from society but because he scored 3 goals he was actually a hero. Reminds me of all the journalists who used to crawl up Armstrong's ass for years and ridicule serious journalists like David Walsh who tried to out him.
Messi similarly stole from the Spanish taxman. What's your point? I'd be surprised if either man actually knew how much he was stealing.
