I think he doesnt let criticism get to him given that he turned it up a notch football wise despite the vitriol he received from English fans in the PL after WC 2006 and in general. Some players just cease up.
I think he has an excellent work ethic as described by Roy Keane and SAF who said he was one of the hardest workers he had played with (or something along those lines).
He is resolute. He doesn't drink for example. He has a goal and removes the things that can hinder him.
He's flexible and adaptable. He went from a winger to a striker in his career and was world class at both.
And he's just hungry and determined. Look at his goal records.
That's what I mean by great character.
