Now that we are firmly into the Emery era though, I’m concerned we might be getting carried away. Both because many of us feel managerial change has been long due, but also because of the sheer number of signings and activity over the course of a single window.
The competition is real. City and Pep will be looking to repeat. Chelsea will come out strong if they don’t lose any key player, United and Mourinho will be boring as usual, but harder to beat and Liverpool will be looking to take the next step and make some progress, same as Spurs.
Getting back into top 4 on first try is probably going to be a pretty tough ask.
