Exactly. The whole Arteta thing is a classic case of the grass is always greener.

Ironically, if we got Arteta, the same people would have probably said he is too inexperienced. Never happy either way.

The only manager (s) everyone would be unified with would have been Allegri or possibly Simone.

Emery is a good choice. He ticks a hell of a lot of the boxes. He is an upgrade on Wenger that is for sure.

Before his PSG stint pretty sure almost everyone wishlist Emery after his impressive work with Sevilla.

He got me sold when the report says he apparently want to build around Ramsey and Auba. In terms of tactical knowledge and training methods, he must be one of the top meticulous coach.

The only worry is his charisma and authority IMO with the players and the english press.

In terms of his attitude, ideology, style everything fits us perfectly IMO. His last press conference where he wished Tuchel well was so classy

Agree on the charisma bit. Allegri does not seem very charismatic though. Also depends on your definition of charisma. Simone is a hot head and a nutter but this doesnt necessarily mean he is charismatic..

Ramsey sort of dismissed the idea of Arteta as well; says a lot imo.

‘He’s been under Pep Guardiola there, he was always interested even when he was playing here in going into a coaching role one day, I’m sure he’s learning a lot about the game and especially the way Man City have been playing. ‘They’ve done fantastically well, so I’m sure that one day when the time is right, he’ll be a fantastic manager. It’s still early days in his career at the moment.’

I think I mentioned this before but it's worth noting that every striker Emery has managed since his Almeria days has reached their absolute peak under him. Negredo Villa Soldado Bacca Gameiro even Cavani last year after being ruined on the wing for years, all played their best under Emery.

Bodes very well for us with Aubameyang and Lacazette, unrealistic ask but if he keeps that record up we're looking at a combined 80 goals from them.

Ramsey is exactly the kind of B2B AM Emery would love. He may convince him to sign.

Yeah he certainly makes the impression of being a bit too much into himself although I don't see anything wrong with what he said here.

The way he carries himself on the pitch and wants to be the hero of every situation, persistent reports about his obsession with his on field position and his status in the team, his aspirations to play in Spain for one of the big two, his haircuts and image management, his recovery from a career-threatening injury, the whole package. Those reported comments about Arteta.

Everything I've ever learnt about him contributes to my sense he believes he's exceptional and marked out for greatness, and doesn't necessarily extend the same to other players.

Integrated the likes of Alba and Banega into the first team at Valencia as well as youngsters, also Kimpembe and Lo Celso at PSG. So bodes well for the likes of Mavropanos and AMN.

Credited with improving so many players as well, like Vitolo, Rakitic, Krychowiak, Gameiro at Sevilla, Mata, Silva, Villa at Valencia.

That's a fair point. Excited how he's going to transform our attack tbf.

Ballague has gotten many things right recently about Arsenal due to his close ties with Raul. Kike was the first to break Emery news as well, been reliable for awhile. Pretty much every other Arsenal ITK died yesterday with this surprise.

Don't think you did but that's a very good point. Even though Cavani had a stinker in terms of finishing in the games against us his movement was absolutely incredible. Some of the best movement I've ever seen from a striker. I'm sure Emery played a part in that.

Gotta love how the journalists and the ITK people who all got this story completely wrong now are trying to portray it like the board had never heard of Emery until two days ago. They act so concerned over whether he can coach properly because he's not fluent in English too. If Guardiola can learn bloody German in six months then Emery can learn enough English over a summer to have a simple conversation. There are interpretors for the rest, plus plenty of Spanish-speaking players in the squad.

Lets see how he does here. I find it hard to envisage a worse defense under Emery than under Wenger.
