They've had time outside the top four under little pressure from the fans where they were able to develop players and drop points. All without to much scrutiny. The positive atmosphere has been there before they started doing great business. When they were doing worse than us. And started signing a cluster of young players to develop.

Spurs benifit with the same treatment from the media. Spurs get away with very little critisim for winning nothing with a very good squad. What I was saying was if wneger was in charge of that liverpool squad and didn't challenge city or end up ahead of a very average united side he'd be critisised a lot more.

Because Wenger's been in this country and been a challenge pretender for ages

Poch has been here long enough and had a better squad and won less and gets only praise.

Wenger earned a lot of his critisim. But Spurs should have a cup by now and pool should be second in the table. But they dont get any critisim not a dot, and they're doing the best jobs of developing players.

Look what alll the critism does to the england squad especially the keepers. I was only highlighting the point younger players tend to do a lot better when they dont have the same unhealthy levels of critisim.

Agree on Spurs and the media but not Liverpool. They are always under massive scrutiny and have fans with extremely high expectations.

I also fail to see which young players Liverpool were developing. Sterling is the only one who sticks out and he's gone. They brought through some young full backs this season but thats not when you are talking about.

For a straight forward example someone like emre can who absolutely took time to adapt did so under less pressure then xhaka was under here.

I agree with your point but Can went there for £10m aged 20 whilst Xhaka came here for around £35m aged 23. Different expectation levels.

Wenger did it with one real challenger in United. He had the monopolyof the French market. This is a totally different era. But we've been through this before.

Spurs should have a cup and everyone knows it. And Poch and Spurs are criticised. When they lost to Utd there were plenty of articles and podcasts detailing it. Perhaps it's selective hearing.

Liverpool are in the CL final so that more than makes up for it. I don't think you thought that they'd finish 2nd back in August last year but in any case they have remained in the CL places.

It's Arsenal and Chelsea who have underperformed.

Liverpool have done really well to reach the CL Final. In the League though, they finished with one less point than the previous season, scoring 6 more and conceding 4 less. This whilst having the best player in the League.

Reports of Bayern making a bid for Bailey and LFC also interested.

Also talk of Evans to LCFC.

Bayern are sending out mixed messages at the moment, claiming they are not interested in anyone.

I hope we can add a genuine top attacker. A Fekir (although Ozil will have to depart), a Dembele, a Martial etc

There will be options for sure.

I assume it will be 4-3-3 under Arteta, so if he really holds to Cryuff/VanGaal principles, is Malcolm more of a need? Someone who can stay wide, stretch the pitch for the midfielders. Dembele I guess can do this as well.

It will be interesting.

They don't have the best team though.

I mean Arsenal finished with fewer points and a lower position than last year yet people think we just need a couple of additions and we're cool. This while we still have Ozil and Ramsey and Auba.

United finished second and made big improvements and they're still criticised. So it's not always what the finish total points are but who the team is that people are against.

Arsenal were worse than last season and Liverpool weren't much better than last season despite having the best player in the League. They were up against a record breaking City side and had no chance at the title but to imagine that they would improve on their points total when up against the rest of the PL isn't very unreasonable.

Arsenal's inadequacies which everyone is aware of, the lack of two more quality players being one of them indeed, need not be brought up when pointing to the overestimation of other clubs. I wish you'd do the opposite sometimes.

Neville came out the other day and said poch would be the perfect ManU manger. Poch has also been liked with Real and wildly raved about. I wish someone would give me that kind of critisim.

City want hazard apparently. What a special club with special manager.

What about them wanting to sign a good player makes the club or the manager special exactly?

For hundred million.

Background:I hate that club and that little whining bald fuck of manager for multiple reasons.

That was a sarcastic post above.

Oh I see.

City won't get Hazard anyway. Chelsea aren't that stupid and he'd have good options abroad to pick from.

On Liverpool. Same league finish, but they have added a Champions League final to it. So the fans have good reason to be excited. They'll need to add about 6-10 points to that total to show progress this year, but they are definitely moving in the right direction.

Periera-Maguire-Evans-Fuchs is a decent back line especially with Kasper behind them.

Don't think you should look too much into points last season versus this one. It's clear as day when watching Liverpool that they've gotten better, that's why they're positive. They stopped prioritizing the league more and more the further they got in the Champions League, and barely had midfielders to play in the last few matches.

If Liverpool really get Fekir in addition to Keita and don't sell Salah, it'll be Tottenham, us and Chelsea in a fight for fourth.
