Scott Arfield has joined on a four-year deal from Burnley.

Gerrard told the club website: "Scott is the first one in and I look forward to working with him and the others who will be coming in to strengthen the squad."

Nuri Sahin, Marcel Schmelzer and Gonzalo Castro have all been told they are allowed to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer, according to Bild.

They are rebuilding aggressively at Dortmund, with emphasis on talented youth.

Be interesting to see how their recruitment goes sans Mislintat.

He was sometimes wishlisted here, good signing for Inter if it happens.

What on earth happened there? I thought he had already extended with Juventus. First he said he wouldn't, and then both parties claimed it was practically a done deal a few months ago.

He probably got tired of sitting behind Alex Sandro and Inter showed him the $$$ Klaus.

Looks like Max Meyer's on his way to Hoffenheim.

Big blow to Hoffenheim's Champions League hopes.

Great news. Big loss for the Scousers. Delighted.

He's hardly played for them recently so can't see how he'd be missed much especially with Keita coming in.

Emre Can won't be missed there. I am more worried about them signing Fekir.

Fekir to Liverpool 99% done apparently, according to Canal+.

Very cool. Everyday we fall a little farther behind Liverpool. They used to be a bigger joke than Spurs.

I think the positive atmosphere around the club has helped them. Realisticly that squad should be ahead of the manU one in the league. Even if they weren't in the CL final i reckon there fans would still be happy. While the media and our fans would be talking about under performance and Wenger not challenging.

What helped them the most is getting a good manager in and in recent years a very good transfer policy. They’ve recouped a fair bit selling some players but not afraid to reinvest it. Look at their front three and it cost less than Laca & Auba. Three of them bought under the age of 25 and all three have developed brilliantly there. They overpaid for Van Dijk but I’d argue he’s helped them get to the final, because defensively he’s made a massive difference. They went for Keita last summer, couldn’t get him so paid over his release clause last year to secure him this summer. After the seasons he’s had good chance Liverpool would have missed out this summer. They need a GK, a decent CB (don’t need another World class one) and they’re competing right up there next season. Keita & Fekir will make a massive difference to their midfield

Our transfer policy has been a train wreck in comparison. Never able to make a move early and never doing smart deals like them. On the pitch their tactics have been superb, well drilled and oiled team. Against the top teams Klopp has them showing up and players who others deem average putting in great performances. Could you see Wenger getting Henderson, Milner & Ox to outplay the City midfield?

They’re a club who have wasted millions down the years, now look like they’ve got their act together and moving forward rapidly with a plan and focus. They’ve expanded their stadium, with recent run of form will be able to demand bigger commercial deals with their fan base.

I'd argue they only need a top GK and they'd be title contenders next year, assuming Fekir signs.

If they have both Fekir and Salah next year, I pray for defenses. Fekir is a one man wrecking crew

They have a positive atmosphere because they've been doing positive business and performing well on the pitch. 2 things Wenger failed miserable at in the last few years.
